I weight around 29k or more depending on how many people come with me to the pulls. When we left Indiana one trip, we were trying to make it to a pull back in MO, we actually reached speeds of 90:D... I know I know, it was unsafe and stupid, but i made the pull, and no one got hurt.:thumb:

For normal trips, i can usually set the cruise on 75-80 and it will downshift to 5th here and there but its pretty smooth. My 03 would downshift to 4th every damn hill we hit trying to pull 75.

I pulled a 08 powerstroke 4 door on a skimpy trailer drove about 40 miles with trailer brakes. highest speed limit was 50 yet the trailer started swaying when I crept passed 45 mph. the trailer was waay to small for the truck but damn my buddy was pissed when I laughed at how good the GMC looked pulling the powerstroke :roflmao:

It is pretty amazing when you add up all the weight of the rolling beast! Anyway most weight and fastest and longest aren't all in one tow. :D

But I'll list this one just to get in.
With a 120 RWHP tune,we have hills out here.
24' Enclosed ,cargo of 3 HD's and a Goldwing. All the gear and luggage for a long weekend for 12 people.

Truck = 7500 #'s
Trailer = 4320 #'s
Cargo = 3000 #'s approx

I'm a light weight at 14820 #'s

Sustained speed 75 MPH with a few miles on a CLOSED ROAD of-course at 95 MPH! Yee-ha :D

Round trip was just over 800 miles. Wish I could see the faces of the people I passed. :woott:

Towing 5th wheel with horse trailer and 3 horses behind it loaded with fuel and water to Jackson Hole WY and back to Worland, WY grossing 28k and still getting 10 mpg down to 3rd gear pulling South Pass out of Lander to keep egt's below 1300. PPE on level 6 and each axle weighed at DOT scale and let's just say, I was a little heavy for a 9200 gvw truck with 7000 on the rear axle and 4500 on the front and lots more on the 4 trailer axles.

Most weight I've hauled with my truck has been around 20k gross. It was a few years ago. I went to the dunes with some friends, and I towed our Jeeps. The most weight I've ever towed was a load of hay I hauled with my dad's truck. It grossed just a little over 36k lbs.

Not to be a buzzkill here.. But the forums are for info..

If an accident happened while your truck is overweight, your ins company can deny the claim and you can be held responsible for damages.. Now this doesnt sound soo bad at first.... But, say your trailer gets sideways, lands on a car and hurts somebody.. Criminal charges and the lawsuits start..

I learned this lesson by a friend at glamis.. The only reason it came up is i flew past his ASS going up the small hills goin into yuma with a 35ft 5er..

DAMmmmmmm that is a buzz-kill. Party pooper! :D

In this day and age and the INTERNET you might be correct but they would have to find you. It's not like you use your real name.Some one would have to rat you out!

In addition just because you have a picture of your truck with a trailer attached does not mean you actually towed it on public roads. I believe a lawyer would have a field day with that. In saying that ,although I have seen GM use information off of forums in warranty claims!

This is no different than those that post 'kills' and excessive speed. I suppose it is caution in the wind but I wouldn't be paranoid.

It is a decent conversation but it might not be popular. Good luck put your flame suit on before entering the building! :D

The pictures I posted are legal. My dad's truck and trailer both have farm tags. That's legal in Texas.

I dont care if its legal or not.. That was'nt my point at all..

If something were to happen while doing it, was my point..

I've pushed it back when, now i carry a balloon policy to cover me no matter what..

So if you were perfectly legal, and got in an accident ( you werent speeding or anything or over weight at the time of the accident) and they seen what you wrote in this thread, you would get in trouble for it?? I think not bud, sounds like a conspiericy theory.:roflmao::roflmao::roflmao:
