I don't want to paint really because of all the road sand/gravel we get here for half the year or better. 25000 miles and my front end is already chipped to hell.

I'd rather buy new that's already black. Same with the grille.

The inside is painted so there's no way they'd get chipped.

Not the inside. The trim around the light. It's part of the headlight assy.

That's what I would do with new.

Like I said though mine are chipped pretty bad already. Would take alot of sanding to get them smooth enough to prime and paint. Time and effort I would rather avoid as I don't have a 3rd vehicle to drive while this one is down (wife needs her car).

Actually after some searching I have discovered the trim can be popped off. Didn't know this. I was told it was all one piece/glued on.

This changes things as I would be able to still drive the truck while I'm getting it sanded and painted.
