Mine actually isn't too bad with the stock upshift/downshift values, a little under the charger but not bad. It's great for mpg too, if I drive extra slow I never make over 2-3psi. I got 22.4 hand calc mpg driving this way from phx to vegas.
I have spent a lot of time with it, and apart from reducing shift defuel there isn't much to gain if the defuel is setup properly.
Many people will say "my truck shifts great with no defuel". That's because the tune is incorrect.
Sure reducing defuel and shift timing can make it feel like a better quicker shift, but at what risk? Clutch wear? Tie-ups?
That is like saying that stock ECM tuning is as good as it gets. I do no tune to fix ECM tuning. I tune it to make more complete truck as a unit but what do I know since I am not recognized as anyone anyway. You have your beliefs and what works for you so I will just leave it at that.
that's awsome mpg im seeing 21 but I do 60% in jectors and im sorry for the derail on your thread also u can go wrong with tony or bob choose the one who can tune it from the seatMine actually isn't too bad with the stock upshift/downshift values, a little under the charger but not bad. Very weird that two different people would ask the exact same question within days of each other, thats why I asked. My recommendation is still the same. Thanks everybody for the input I just sent my buddy the link to the forum. I'm not on the compt d forum by the way lol and I'm not a chick haha.
You sound like Obama.
I almost cracked 11s on a stock TCM tune FWIW and FML how did this thread come to this? SEARCH OPTION MOTHER F'ers. Must be 1000 threads already about tuner this and that comparison BS.
Stock 01 TCM tune FTW
No, seriously....
They had tcms back then? :roflmao: J/K!!!!!!! LOL
It was just a couple rocks tied together with rope, or something like that. Bang the rocks together, the trans would shift. Pretty simple. :roflmao:
I am still trying to learn a lot of this. Been doing a lot of reading. It seems like to many people are getting the wrong convertor for there set up or changing there set up without doing the right convertor with it. So then try to make it work with tcm tuning. To me it seems like the wrong way to do it.
