I played cod4 on pc.... Heard that the new one isn't as pc friendly though....
havent bought it yet anyway....
I liked cod4 and played the hell out of it. I never got into the Internet thing though. I just liked playing it on easy and seeing how fast I could finish it each time.
While we are on the subject of xboxs and such. Does anybody know what to do if your console gets a red ring around the on button.

It needs to be sent in Microsoft for repair
We are had to have ours repaired twice.

I have it too for PS3, unfortunately, haven't put more than about 2 hours into it because of other stuff going on.

I just had the red ring of death 2 days ago on mine. It was just an overheated power cord from leaving it on too long. Hopefully you can just let it cool down and that's it.
I would search for some shops near you. I know of about 4-5 shops around me that fix them for pretty cheap and upgrade the fan inside. Also some will upgrade the disk reader so you can play burnt games.
I would not suggest doing that right now (upgrade the disc reader) xbox live is banning lots of peoples' consoles for that "upgrade" don't ask me how I know....

Mine went out Saturday with the ring of death. So I went to walmart and caught that deal where you get a $100 gift card when you buy a new one. So I got a new Xbox for $100.
I had already had mine fixed twice under warranty. And I fixed the cd drive myself when it went out. I'm going to try to fix the ring of death now on this one and maybe sell it to a friend.

Trivia, Microsoft was working to make a HD DVD reader/player for the 360 but gave up on it after spending millions when the BlueRay became dominant. A supplier to MS scammed us out of $25k worth of work when the plug was pulled.
And yes, the X360 hardware is a feat of modern planned obsolence. When the next gen of it is released, I hope they have a trade in program, because the existing hardware lifespan is crap.
The goal for these machines is not to sell boxes. It's to sell online gaming subscriptions, internet sales, movie sales, game sales, etc. If there is any question about it, ask a PS3 owner what kind of "upgrades" the latest patches were. The long term goal for them is that everytime anyone turns on a game machine, they generate money. It will be their bottomless ATM.

my xbox is crap, it has been replaced 3 times in 2 years, my ps3 hasnt failed me yet in 3 years...my wii is very stout ive dropped that thing a couple of times in 3 years and the sucker still works.

It depends. Sometimes if you wrap it up in a towel and overheat the xbox it will clear the code and may work again....for a while.
