Whats your final cost estimate per gallon gonna be around. Might be something to consider doing the way fuel prices are getting.
I agree. Larry, I know the Chick-Fil-A owner through my in-laws and since they fry everything in 100% peanut oil, we might be able to get the hook up for free or at least cheap oil.

It looks like a good mix. All the gunk at the bottom I would guess you'd filter out before putting it into your tank, right? Forgive me, I don't know enough about Bio yet. :baby:

That looks like glycerin in the bottom. The glycerin is not biodiesel and should be seperated from it. Glycerin can be used to make soap though.
I Have A Buddy Making It He Says Its Costing Him About 1.35 A Gallon. He Runs It On His Fleet Of Box Trucks.
the glycerin at the bottom is drained off before you put it in your tank. and we use potassium hydroxide as a catalyst so that we can use the leftover glycerin in our compost pile. it doesn't make nearly as much smoke as good old #2 even on my 500hp tune, just a light haze

Dam thats good. Just curious if there is any issues with the gov trying to make you pay road taxes on what you produce? We have a restaurant and we go threw 30-40 gal of veg oil a week. I'm very interested in making my own bio. How complicated is the process?
its very easy to make, just have to make sure your measurements are accurate. as far as i know the gov can make you pay taxes on the fuel witch is only something like 23 cents a gallon, but they have to catch you and they have no way to tell how long you've been doing it, or how much you use
the main thing is to find a source of good and i mean GOOD oil. shitty oil will really mess things up.
so my question would be... how much could I run in my LBZ? I think the manual says no more than B5. what would happen if I tried to run around 20%?
i wouldn't be affriad to run B100, i've run about 15 or 20 tanks of B100 in mine and it doesn't seem to mind at all (acctually seemed to run better)
maybe dan from ppe would chime in. didnt they make that old chevelle that ran on B100 bio diesel?
no, used cooking oil is perfect. just not lumpy thick nasty rancid oil-like sludge
