I'm running a stock cam. a good cam maters more for something like a big single that is hard to get on top of (sts) imho. You don't need much of one if you have a turbo setup that is easy to get on top of. Now with that being said, had I had the time I would have gone with some sort of mild cam.

Thats what im wondering. If i should put a mild cam in it while its apart since it will have ported heads, bigger turbo's, bigger injectors and the lower compression fly cut pistons. Even though the compression drop isnt a lot. I just want to be able to do whatever i can, should and need to do while its apart. Cause its not coming back alart unless it breaks again!

Judging from the video jackblack sent me this morning ....a 2.6 1300 horse Cumins running and revving on a motor stand outside maybe this is a mild build for him.He works at Haisleys Cummins shop and the poor guy is the only 1 there with a d max. Chaz I'm sure you get razed by the guys all the time.

Haha.. yea that was a good running engine. But in all honesty, I hope my truck runs up to my hopes... Ive had a lot of help along the way from a lot of good people.

I know socal has one, and if you are on a budget you can have your stocker reground to get just a little bit more out of it.

If it were me i would probably do the 1 size larger, the 1 that you can still run with out fly cutting but thats just me.Ive seen alot of guys selling the big cams and going smaller for some reason.
