Definitely miss the ripping torque of my deleted lml but compared to when it was stock it’s not too much different to drive.

Have about 3500 miles on it. The truck itself is very nice. Best average empty over 400 miles is 21 mpg and it usually averages around 17 mpg on the highway. I live in the mountains and speeds are usually 60-80mph

The engine/trans has something going on that I need to question the dealer about and I find annoying. At part throttle when you just start to lean into it at around 1500 rpm it has a surge that’s both audible and you can feel it. Feels like the converter is locking/unlocking or it has a misfire. Not sure if they all do it or not. I put a magnaflow muffler on it and did a side exit tailpipe and it’s definitely more audible now.

So far though it’s been good. Just wish there was some tuning options. 98 mph speed limiter is annoying.

That is some decent MPG. In a 2 wheel drive van I bet it could be 18+ MPG. My van stock was 250/450 and now I am maybe around 300/500. So it sounds like this would be a very good gas option for me.

Thank you for taking the time to provide some good info.

TX of course
With that kind of mileage diesel owners really have to question whether it’s necessary get one or not. If this engine is as durable as the 6.0 was it’s going to be a hell of a powertrain.

When towing the numbers are substantially less favorable but if you only tow or haul 15-20% of the time the numbers are still good enough.

We are 1 year in and I have not heard much of anything about tuning if/when it will be available. I am guessing it is gonna take an ECM swap to get it done ? I am interested to see how much potential this motor has for MPG/performance with just tuning. The Ford 7.3 gasser is way ahead of the game with performance mods such as tuning for example. I see Procharger has a bolt on kit for the Ford to bump it to 600+ horse and I think someone else was putting together a supercharger kit to go to 700+ horse.

Gawd I wish someone would release tuning for these. The stock trans shift strategy sucks. And the rev up every time you go from zero throttle into the feeder a bit is beyond annoying. And the speed limiter is also killing me. I would have thought someone would have something by now. Stand-alone might be possible but I dunno how compatible it would be with the rest of the onboard systems. There’s A LOT of canbus shit going on!!!
