6L90 and it looks like they are now using an old torque converter from 2014-2015 6.2 Tahoes and 1500 trucks. I do not have a clue if that is a good/bad thing. What trans comes with the 6.6?

That's no good. It won't hold.6L90 and it looks like they are now using an old torque converter from 2014-2015 6.2 Tahoes and 1500 trucks. I do not have a clue if that is a good/bad thing.
That sucks and I will have to remember to ask my customers who are GM dealers if they are starting to see any issues yet. That's no good. It won't hold.
All I did was look up the part number to see if it was the same as the 6.0 trucks and thought it was odd when it also matched those older vehicles. Maybe GM has a warehouse full of them and thought it would be a good way to get rid of them all.I pick up the AT4 on Thursday afternoon.
I had read they use about 75% of the old trans that was behind the 6.0 and beefed up the newer parts they replaced/upgraded. Haven’t read anything on the converter being an issue yet or if it’s the 6.2 one now. Got my gm tech buddy looking into that for me. Good news is if it is and it shits the bed there’s lots of aftermarket choices!!
We've had some beautiful sunsets the last couple weeks due to it.It made it past Michigan,
Yeah it’s pretty impressive with those trucks are getting. I hope it turns out to be a great motor. I don’t wanna try and keep my old 6.0L around forever.17mpg average over 500 miles hand calculated. Bang on with lieometer. Mixed hwy and city driving, towing my little utility trailer around for 120 miles. Doing 75 - 80mph on all the new highways. Not terrible I’d say for brand new gas 1 ton
