If they don't crack I don't know what they do, but the new seals don't always fix them. I rebuilt mine twice. Once with a cheap Ebay kit then with a good kit from a vendor. Still leaked. It was out of the plunger just like yours. I cleaned the crap out of it and looked for cracks never found one. I gave up and got a new head with a filter for $100 should of done that to start. I think the fuel was getting past the apposing seals. Maybe the primer housing swells....

Yup.

I installed the new O rings just around the plunger this morning and of course one of the o rings in a Dorman kit i bought was too big so i had to look around my shop for an o ring that fit.

If it starts to leak again then I am going to have to buy a new head as well....again

Yep and my guess is the grease would seal it up for a week then it would leak again. I probably tore mine apart to check the seals/cracks and put it back together 3 or 4 times in 2 months, before just buying a new one.
