I figured I would up-date this thread in case other search it out or are in the same boat , the plan is to have DTS do there treatment with there cup delete mod and that should fix it once and for all , heads will go out Monday and if every thing goes right should be back out to the track with in a few weeks ! A big thanks to David for agreeing to rush these through for me :hug:

Trent, did any damage occur this second time the cups blew?

Dont know yet Mitch , she's a little down on compression ( white smoke when cold and takes a min to fire ) but seems fine when warm , drove it up on the trailer, and off of it and to the shop and that's about it , should know soon.

sorry i never saw this thread,but i dont look in this section but once in a great while. the welded cups seem to have the problem solved as for now. i am interested in threaded cups, i thought it was a grea idea,but it was determined that too much risk for unscrewing would be there do to extreme heat cycles. i hope someone does it and it works. why ever lead an lb7 head right:thumb::thumb::thumb:

up dating this thread also , pulled the heads off today and the heads and short block survived the ordeal, Over nighting them out to DTS tomorrow , cant wait to get them back and get back to the track !!
