My truck has ready lift 2 in leveling kit. And it constantly eat's front end parts. So im thinking of lowering it to get rid of the headache. Im going to drop the T-bars down and put drop shackles in the rear. Just want some pics to see what its going to look like and if i even want to do it.

Its all in the wheel you choose. I have my torsion bars completely down, and the overload and intermidiate spring removed from the reear leaf pack, makes for abut 4" of drop, and i run 285/75r16 tires on stock wheels. No rubs at all. I will be running 20s soon, and i will be running a 285/55r20, hopefully with similar results. Ill try to get some pics up for you later.

I got 305/70R16's stockers. I know if i lower it in the front its going to rub. But will i have problems in the back if i put the shackles in? Cause thats the route im leaning towards.

Mike. What width and offset are you going with on your 20's?

Hey Beech, Is your turck stock height in the rear?

Ill measure them this afternoon. Im not sure a hundred percent if my plan will work out, but so far it looks promising. Measurements to come. :thumb:

Are you running caltracs to stop spring wrap without the extra leafs? I've been debating pulling a couple out but don't want to have bad spring wrap without caltracs.

I was running 285 70 17 bfg a/t to pull with, I sold them and will run a 285 75 16 very soon. I ran 35x12.5x18's for 2 years and had to trim a bunch. I think that's how I get away with 285's not rubbing.

Not yet, but i will be building some trac bars soon. If you dont want to Have to run trac bars, do not remove any leaves, spring wrap and wheel hop is pretty bad in my setup right now. For the time being, im just being nice with the skinny peddle.

Anyone know if 20X10 wheels can work with the t-bars cranked down? I was thinking maybe on a 285 tire. I found a really nice set of KMC's for cheap.

Thanks for the info. Skinny pedal self control isn't my strong suit. Gonna have to wait until I have time to build some traction bars.

Depends what the offset is. If you want to fit a bigger tire on a stock suspension truck stick with a positve offset wheel. The KMC wheels you are looking at are probably a -12 so they will stick out and might rub on the bumper.

Thanks man. I'm not looking to go bigger than stock. I am thinking 285/50's which are about 31", so hopefully I'll be okay. I'll check the offset though.
