Hello, ok got codes p0089 & p0090 showing. I’ve replaced fpr & pigtail also got a pig tail comeing off main engine harness. I have just replaced injectors 30 over & also have a 50hp cp3 pump. I’m waiting for ppei to finish up the new tune. I need to know if running the old tune is making the fpr throw this code. Please help.

Was the knock there before injector swap? Take a piece of 3/8in heater hose about 4 foot long and use it like a stethoscope to locate the knock then let us know what you find. Curious if it's up high around injectors or if you have other issues internally. Hows oil pressure reading? More info the better so we can help you diag it.

No there was no knock. Two weeks ago had to have oil pump replaced. Drove it home and at 2000 rpm it would lose power, almost stall out and it would shake hard until I let off accerater. The p0090 code came on and hasn’t went off. I replaced fpr and the wiring harness and the code came back could it be my tune not allowing enough fuel and make the fpr trip the code. I will find out about the knocking sound tomorrow

Ok sounds like it was coming from top of driver side around# 4 & 6 injector. It is reading code p0089 & p0571 which is speed sensor. The sound wasn’t as aggressive has been. Oil pressure is good -1.3/1.3/-2.3/1.2/0.6/2.1/3.4/-2.9 this is my injector balance rate

New 30 over injectorr and new fpr. I missed with it at lunch today. When I started it up it wasn’t sounding to bad. I only had it running a very short time but long enough for it to start making that noise it shuddered for a second before I could shut it down

Those numbers seem high to me to be new? 4 of 8 being + or - 2 new? Warrenty offered on those injectors?
Those values are nothing to worry about. They are all consistent. Hell a new truck will be off more than that sometimes but still consistent.

If the p0090 is gone, I'd be looking at rescaling the fpr mA tables considering the higher output CP3 that was installed. Not sure of the Dodge talk 50hp it supposedly puts out but I would suspect it's probably a sportsman of some sort.

I respectively disagree you spend 2500-3500+ on new injectors I would like to see them as close to +or- 0.0 as possible they are high 2's one 3 and then high negative 2's and 1's. I don't see where they are consistent they are all over the place imho. I'm not trying to start an argument here just stating what I see in the numbers posted. I agree a re-scale maybe needed to address the concern. Would still like to know what reading respectively go with what cylinder. hince the 3.4 is it on 4 and 6 like mentioned in earlier post? meaning the knocking coming from one of those injectors. gm spec of +or- 6 is why I ask it's half way on 4 of the readings either you look at it negative or positive taking or adding fuel

Spec is +/- 4 in park, +/-6 in drive. I don't believe he mentioned whether he was at operating temp, or in park or drive. Important things to know.

They are consistent 2 and 3 values across all 8 is what I meant. There isn't 1 or 2 up around 8 or so.

I get what you are saying, but this is an lly of an unknown amount of mileage so there are many factors that can affect the balance rates. Also balance rates alone are a poor way to diagnose injector health. You need to do return rate tests also and in some cases check compression right? But above all with the high rail code it will amplify any small irregularities in the injectors if the rail pressure is well above the desired for idle which is why I don't believe the injectors are of concern at this point.

What I'm saying is new or not, those numbers don't concern me as far as the knock is concerned. IMO he needs to fix the high rail pressure issue first before even considering bad injectors. FWIW my LBZ was double those numbers on average with several above 8 and I didn't have a knock at all at idle. Just a haze.

When in park ideling it isn’t to bad sounding but it will very quickly start running very bad and loud and almost stalls out then catches and smooths out, so no I haven’t had it at operating temperature. I think it my be the tune causing the fpr to not operate properly. That is why the balance rates aren’t looking good. This tune is not allowing enough fuel to operate. What do you think about that. Hopefully the new tune will show up sometime this coming week.

Dont forget, you really need the main fuel rate to accurately judge injector health using balance rates.

Can you help me understand main fuel rate. How do I get it. Fuel rail cp3 sorry I don’t know much about this.
