so cal
why are we still talking about injectors and site politics/drama....Vaz and DuramaxPowered (the thread starter!) already ended the argument a few posts up and thus necessitated no further discussion on the injector/politics topic. That should have been in a PM, not in this thread. But thats just my opinion. :)

thats the way the internet is I guess. Somebody always has to get the last word in.

ben

x2 lets here about the twins and not the injectors.

buncha smartasses in here

maybe just one ;)

Doesn't sound like Guy to me. I have spend peanuts with Guy, but he has always had the time to deal with me....even when I wasn't buying something.

Guy emailed me on a Saturday night asking if he could call me, I replied to the email and 10 minutes later he was on the phone with me on a Saturday night to get my serial number to send me an EFIlive license that night.

I honestly don't see why this was even brought into the thread?

Talk about a train wreck of a thread... Too bad we couldn't see/hear more about the twins (what I thought the topic of this thread was).

Just to clarify, this was not directed at anyone in particular. I just think it's a shame that this thread got derailed so horrifically.

For those of you complaining about the derailment (Ben, Tommy and whomever else), go back and read posts 18, 19, and 31...Then read what's in red...

Sure sounds to me like someone was offering help, then someone got pissy...

Ask him how and at what pressures and fuel flow they balance. Id give Guy at SoCalDiesel a call for another option if I were you.

why? Guy is going to send them out somewhere else anyway. It will just cost more:d

Ya, flowtested with a 2850 uS fuel shot at 160mpa, not 150 psi or whatever ExtrudeHone does. It makes a different, trust me. ;)

it is more like 2000 psi

The list of qoutes could have continued, but I sure hope y'all get the point...

I vote for less complaining about OT, and for less X2s...Several threads here have multiple topics, sorry if you don't like it, but I have a feeling it's gonna stay that way...

Good luck with your build, looks like fun...

I wasn't complaining about the injector discussion as derailing the thread. At least that was tech info, or at least tech related. What I was complaining about was page 6 and most of page 7. Little to no tech or tech related info. Just a bunch of bickering, and I'm adding to it. That being said, I'm outta here.

X2 :D

Seriously though, things headed in a direction that didn't needed to be taken...At times, some of us, myself included, need to proofread/step away from the keyboard/count to 10, etc., before we hit the "send" button...

this isnt a malicious attack?? dmaxvaz has helped me and other on multiple ocasions with building twins, he's called me to see how progress was going and make sure I didnt need any more help. He has been nothing but supportive and helpful to anyone attempting to build twins.... more than you can say about anyone else thats built twins before him (always been top secret)

Sounds like several other members on this forum, including that "arrogant" person...

the attack on his education and being from michigan is rediculous Pat.

are you from the south because if I and other "duramax diesel hot rodders" get refered to as "folk" one more time i'm going sell my truck and buy a honda just so i'm not refered to as "folk" anymore

Can't help you there, don't want to answer for an adult...Pat is a big boy, he can come up with his own response...

but again I wont get any respect or non-aggressive response from you....we've been here before.... I'm just a college kid who's parents have paid my way.... right?

All along dmaxvaz was just trying to point out that Guy doesnt do extrude honing in house, that he sends them out to another shop. Dmaxvaz was just trying to point out that maybe "folk" interested in aftermarket injectors should consider going right to the source/ manufacture instead of through a middle man as it could possibly save them some $ and more than likely allow them to get there product back sooner. As usual though this was a viscious attack and has now turned into a shit show..... which has taken away from dmaxvaz's and others time to add valuable content to this forum.

Hmmmm, see last response in blue...

This thread is so far off course I'm not posting in it anymore. IMO, You might as well lock it................One last bit of info for those interested, the airfilter is an AFE part #21-90049. 5" flange, 6.5" base, 5.5" top, and 9" height.

If you are on this board solely to insult folk you are on the wrong board.

My first post in this thread, Post #72. DVaz had only ONE tech post (vague) prior to this warning. The rest had nothing to do with turbos, and were mostly insults aimed at various targets.

After going through the whole thread:

There were a total of 2 tech posts in this thread by DVaz:

Tech1 - Not sure if we are going to run a turbine cover, dunno.
Tech2 - Asking someone how much boost their twins are making.

But most his posts were just slander aimed at others. And that's why Post #72 occurred. Like it or not.

There is an online catalog posted here of all the K&N sizes, but I can't find the link. I've used several different sizes and can tell you even a 5" filter is too restrictive at 750hp.

Another thing to be aware of is MAF issues. Some O/S won't like ditching the MAF or blinding it, but others don't care. My trucks don't care. Do not mount post-compressor. The heat will often damage it, and it ain't cheap.

Last, on the S400 family chargers with big covers, the inlet is 5.5" ID. 6" is good, 5" is good, but 5.5" is very limited. I assume yours is a small S400.
