Thats odd, my LMM is very responsive on my tow tune and daily driver tune. clean too, very little smoke on the daily tune and almost no smoke on the tow tune but both spool very quickly.

None of the stock VVT trucks should be laggy unless you have something going wrong. They are pretty responsive in stock form, just don't have the big power hit.

Don't get me wrong, I loved that truck and miss it. But from a dead stop I wouldnt get anymore umph off the line by mashing the throttle that I could with 1/4 throttle. And no tire spin til the top of first gear, then second gear would melt the tires. To me it felt like the torque management does on the half tons.

We never did play with the tuning much to try and work it out. It made great power and mileage with low egts so I accepted it. Every lmm I've ever been in performed similar with canned tuners, or big name efi live tuners so I just ASSumed that was how they all are.

Did I miss something??? Maybe an off the shelf PPE tuner is the solution

PPE has their Torque based fueling turned way down. I used to run PPE Hot +2 E.T. but they @ the time had no way of turning off codes etc. in order to tune the twin setup and delete all of the other egr, Iav, vgt turbo, etc. I can tell you that the hot tune was and is no way near the overall power of EFI either. I took EFI out of a buddies LMM and installed the Hot +2 ET and he didnt care for it.

I wouldn't put a ppe tuner on my ex/future mother in laws truck. Its gonna get figured out not to worried about that.

If we run across a customer that doesn't want Efilive...we generally sell them ppe. Out of all the canned tuners, I think Joe of ppe is the most knowledable tuner and has has the best product on the market for what you can get off a shelf.

Yep!

I think PPE has the market for tuners hands down. I have not seen much differance from PPE to a EFI live (stock trucks) tune.

Joe's truck (teabagger) on a PPE 300 tune and mine on a kill tune using EFI were pretty much running identical times. Both trucks are exhaust, lift pump and tune only.

I would agree that PPE has a good pre canned tuner but it will not run as well as a properly EFI Live tuned truck. I have tuned three trucks here that have used PPE products for years and each has picked up a minimum two tenths in the eigth mile times and two to three MPH. So I can't agree that each are pretty equal. The customers are most impressed with the difference in how much smoother the EFI tuned truck is.

It's coding for the IAH, IAV, and 405EGR..........but thanks for the info.

I have a bunch of trouble free Cheetah's that run well.......but I got a few PITA's and EFI is working on them with me to hopefully benefit the whole community.

:thumb:

With that said I'd recommend anyone having these coding issues to contact Efilive on it...very easy to get 101 support with them...Ross would be happy I'm sure to have a few trucks to try the new changes on.

just curious what changes YOU made over what our tuning is? Did you add or remove timing? How about fuel, more or less? Just curious..

I used less total timing and pulse. This is on an LB7 also. I'm not speaking of all of your tuning versions. I won't disclose my tunes but that is what I saw in comparison on the same trucks with no changes but tuning. I'm not bashing you in any way either.
