So Adam are you just going to run this durring the summer? How much is you fan running now? Don't you think it's going to kill your mileage for what gain?

If the 2886 is good.. any the ambient temperature was above 80° fan was engaged.. with exception to going down long grades with no throttle..
When the clutch starts to go. AC is the first to lose efficiency usually pull 40° out of the air going down the road and 30° at idle..those drop as the fan wears out.., all the other temps peak faster and take longer to cool off. As the clutch wears out
I don't see the point running it it in the winter... Most likely will hurt me mpg wise

I will be running mine summer only. Out here my fan is on by the time I hit the highway from my house and doesn't shut off unless there is a looong grade I engine brake down. You can also hear the fan change speeds when engine braking and turning 3-3500 rpm, it will surge to a high rpm, then drop to a lower rpm and back and forth till it turns off. My stock clutch did the same thing so it makes me think it wouldn't stay fully locked when under load pulling hills. I could care less about mpg if I can get the damn thing to stay cool lol

Hmmm....underdrive pulleys for the alt and such?


That would be cool too! I don't know if these diesels would benefit from it as much as gas stuff but only one way to know!

You can adapt in the hummer clutch setup. The later models used the same 36x2 mm thread setup and it was a single hydraulic line to the front of the fan via a solenoid tied into the power steering pressure hose. The cost is the big hurdle. Since it's for a hummer, it's not cheap. The only saving grace is it's stock off the shelf parts.

Yeah looks like close to $800.00 for everything but the fan... IDK if the bolt pattern is the same or not.

But like James fan is on constantly for me

The clutch in picture is All new going for just under $600.00 and saw all new controller for 2-300.00 I'm sure I could find better deals. I have substantually less in the solid hub

I looked into that when Adam showed me but pulling the clutches on and off for summer/winter is easier for now lol. I'd really like to do something like that down the road though. The solid hub will be a good test if it's worth the full lock up

Also picked up some 185/191 tstats.. probably put those in later.. change one thing at a time

Couldn't do this with a clean stack and thermal clutch, the cage installed.. card is 2" off the AC condenser. And no fan cage installed
Thermal would hold a 3*5 card with AC on, clean stack.. not a 1.5*3" business card and a dirty stack and no fan cage

Hey guys, I have a 2011 LML I put into a 2011 Yukon 2500 and the fan has never worked properly since day 1 as it wouldn't go on high while the AC was running. Recently I just discovered it is drawing an amp while the truck is off and it drains my battery, after troubleshooting everything I finally unplugged the fan clutch and the current draw went away. So what could cause this in the fan clutch? Also which one would you recommend to replace it with?

If you are wanting to keep the stock fan, it will not matter which part number you use as they will both work. If you have a draw from the fan clutch though, I would replace it. I lucked out and snagged a barely used 2015 fan at the salvage yard cheap.
