If you have the money by all means use new pistons, but after seeing what Dmitri has done with 200,000+ mile pistons I will be going with my 50,000 mile pistons:thumb: For me i can have mine cut and coated for 800$ vs. 2700$ new cut and coated. Not worth it too me.

yea i will be reuseing mine as well. and for me i will be looking at around $350 cut and coated vs new.

not 100% on the rings but i will be getting new ones...

Where are guys getting pistons cut and coated that cheap?? Does Guy do them that cheap if you already have pistons??

LOL you have a stock turbo!.... Drake said he was sorta surprised that the engine felt the exact same as it did before:(

Does it matter what turbo is used?
You just said that drakes truck spooled better, now your saying it feels the same

You should leave this up to people who actually have experience with built motors, because once again you dont know what your talking about.:thumb:

Just my opinion:

Rods (Id prefer Crower)
Cut LB7/LLY pistons (coated tops?)
Main studs with line hone
Head studs with torque plate hone
Crank balanced w/SoCal dampner
(minimum) 70% injectors
Remanned stock heads with stronger springs
Stock cam
Dual CP3
Bigger Twins (sorry...only real way to make it "streetable" is twins)

New -- Rings (Mahle), Bearings (Clevite H series), Headgaskets (GM "C") Flywheel/balancer bolts & Gaskets/Orings (whatever you couldnt salvage), Oil pump
Key crank, cam & oil pump, weld water pump

Theres probably some stuff in there that I forgot. Building a Duramax always costs more than you budget.

Thanks Tom...my list looks something like what you put...except I'll probably run 100 overs...and stick with completely stock heads for now...wanting to stay with a decently big single (S475 with race cover), dual Cs, and later when money permits going with Stage 1 heads and a cam. Thanks again to everyone for all the input can't wait to get crackin and put this fat girl into the 11's. :D
