Damn, lots of work to pull the front cover. Are you planning on pulling the engine or front clip to get to it? Either way let me know if you need an extra set of hands and I'd be glad to come help as its only a matter of time until something breaks on mine and it'd be nice to have more experience with a dmax.

Neither just laying on top reaching down Lol. I'd like to get it done today because I want to make it to Denton tomorrow to race. Id say you could come but wouldn't want you to waist a trip if I have it back together by the time you get here. I don't mess around when it comes to my truck. Lol.

with all that outta the way take the rad out and use a impact if you got air and a 3/4 drive 36MM 12 pt socket. but then you would still need to torque the bolt back down. But you could atleast get it all back togher but the fan cause I bet you'll have to order that lock tool.

Ya last time I used a screw driver when I pulled it off, but used the tool going back together. Uncle works at Chevy house in home town but that's 3 hours away. Lol.

When I did my water pump I just put it in gear and chocked the wheels. Don't think it would work the same way with an automatic though.

Headed back to the house from going to every part store around to get the socket! Had to go out to a different town to get the socket.

Another thing you can do is remove the starter and put a socket and extension on one of the fly wheel bolts to hold it. Little extra work to do it.

yep that works too and i guess i could have told you a 1" 7/16" 12 pt would be the same.

Well so much for finishing today. I could get the harmonic balancer off. Had a 4' pipe on it and my screw driver couldn't hold it. I guess I'll have to go to the dealership and see if they will let me borrow one tomorrow.

What about the socket on the starter trick?

Tried that wouldn't stay. But just got the fly wheel holder part from a buddy. Now my problem is I can't break the harmonic balancer bolt off!! I've got a big enough breaker bar to! Lol. It won't budge. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1369355587.552289.jpg
