Haha yeah. We have one that is around 15yrs old. Welds heavy wall stainless pipe 10hrs a day 5 days a week. Only problems we've had are foot controls going out and coolant pumps burning out.

My Brother had a holbart 210handler (Miller owned) I have watched him weld trip the over heat limit let it cool the. Do it again repeatedly and not skip a beat for last 7-8 years or so..

I got a little Lincoln MIG pack 140(120v) that I have ran hard when fabing stuff less then 1/4" thick.

Been looking at either holbart 210MP Lincoln 210MP both run 900-1000.00 range and decent duty cycle for weekend welding

Can get little untis that will stick/mig/tig all in one....I'm sure they aren't as great as a dedicated individual unit but would be nice for a hobbist

It only has a 20% duty cycle at 90amps meaning it can only weld at 90amps for 2 minutes straight then it must rest for 8 minutes... Most garage hobby welders that is fine but any heavy fab will easily over tax the welder. What does your current welder have for duty cycle?

I thought you were talking about the Everlast. Had to go look to realize it was the Lincoln.

I called Everlast with a few questions. They don't have any welders in stock except for the big big ones or the small small ones. He said it'd be middle of May for them to get any of the I-MIG 200's in. But also said they could cut me a better deal if I pre order one.

Ebay has them listed. I've bought both my Everlast tig/stick and mig on there. Both landed in less than a week and they go on sale from time to time to get a better price than the Everlast website.

I can't speak on any welder except for Miller & Lincoln, I own 2 Millers and 1 Lincoln. Both have served me well. The Millers are a Millermatic 210 mig and a Bobcat with a Kohler gas engine. The Bobcat I plug it into our house if the power goes out and can power everything with the built in generator on it. The Lincoln is an old buzz box I call it, stick only but does it's job when called upon. I have a Hyportherm plasma cutter and it does great to (will cut 3/4"). We have a Millermatic 250 at work and a Hobart plasma cutter (will cut 1/4"). I am sure any of the other brand welders would do a good job but the duty cycle is what's gonna get you. If you weld everyday all day with it it may give problems but not using it occasionally.

my buddy bought a lincoln 140. not a bad little welder. lincoln is by no means a bad product. if you crank it all the way up on 110/120, be sure your plugged in close to the breaker box or that its not a long run of wires to your socket from there (think we talked about that before though and it wasnt an issue for you). we have an older 120 lincoln buzz box at the shop here i use to weld up our stainless steel pots. i dont like the 4 heat setting you get (need more adjustment for the stainless wire) but its 15 years old not one issue

i use a Miller Passport. its a 210 amp unit that can run on 110 or 220 AND you can get a paintball co2 tank, put it in the case and weld things out in the boonies as long as you have power to feed it.

You realize that Levi has gone through 3 of those home depot Lincoln 140s in the last 3-4 years right?!? I don't think the Lincons from home depot are of the same quality that you get from the actual welding stores... like they are rebranded or just a cheaper line/parts.

This is the one I was going to recommend, it is one bad ass little unit!

I have had 2 miller mig welders and was not very happy with them.... I had the DVI2 (basically a 212) and a 252. Both seemed to pop and spatter a lot, even after replacing the drive wheels, cables/liners in the feed cable, different welding wire, tips, etc. I used 2 different Lincoln 255 with the "diamond core technology", one at work, and one at school. They both were great machines, had smooth power delivery and smooth feed rates. A friend had the millermatic 140 autoset and another friend had the 180 version... I used both of those and they were smooth operating machines... autoset was a great feature and worked well. Lastly, another friend recently bought the Lincoln 210MP as mentioned above, that was a phenomenal machine to use.

I am actually in the market for a new Mig welder also.... I will not be buying a miller again though, the two I owned left a sour taste in my mouth. I also am looking for something that has a little more that what it sounds like you are looking for. I am mainly looking at the Lincoln 210MP.... the thing is just awesome, it has really smooth power delivery, still the compact size, dual voltage capable, good duty cycle, and it has tig capabilities if you so choose to add it down the road :woott: If, I was in the market for something in the lower price bracket ad less power I would be looking at the Millermatic autoset machines. This is just my experience and my $.02, so do with it what you will lol:coolspot:

You might want to check out Everlast Power MTS 200. It's a dual voltage setup and multiprocess as well. The duty cycle has better specs than the Lincoln MP210. Not to mention, it is cheaper than the Lincoln. You can get the tig setup for the same price the MP210 or just the welding unit for $850.

I originally was saving up for the MP210 but since the Everlast brand was brought up, the specs are much better for the price. Lots of good reviews on it as well. No plastic wire feed parts.

Hobart are just re-branded Miller welders. I have a Hobart 140 MIG for the last 5 years, still welding in the garage today. I would buy a bigger one for 1/4" steel though, it is a little cold for 1/4". I'm waiting for a sale on Hobart Ironman 230, or if I can get a good discount somewhere. :thumb:

Spend a little extra and buy a Miller Millermatic 211. You can pic one up for around 900 and it is a great little machine. The Hobart welders are very good too. Lincoln MIG welders are junk until you get up into the $1500+ range. Stay away from the Home Depot Lincoln "HD" " Nascar" shit.

I prefer to buy American. Spend a little extra and support the country you live in. Buy a Miller.

Keep an eye on govliquidation.com you can pick a welder up cheap. That said I had one of those Lincoln flux core mugs and it's a great "hobby" welder I traded up to a Miller inverter style tig.
