It only has a 20% duty cycle at 90amps meaning it can only weld at 90amps for 2 minutes straight then it must rest for 8 minutes... Most garage hobby welders that is fine but any heavy fab will easily over tax the welder. What does your current welder have for duty cycle?
I called Everlast with a few questions. They don't have any welders in stock except for the big big ones or the small small ones. He said it'd be middle of May for them to get any of the I-MIG 200's in. But also said they could cut me a better deal if I pre order one.
my buddy bought a lincoln 140. not a bad little welder. lincoln is by no means a bad product. if you crank it all the way up on 110/120, be sure your plugged in close to the breaker box or that its not a long run of wires to your socket from there (think we talked about that before though and it wasnt an issue for you). we have an older 120 lincoln buzz box at the shop here i use to weld up our stainless steel pots. i dont like the 4 heat setting you get (need more adjustment for the stainless wire) but its 15 years old not one issue
i use a Miller Passport. its a 210 amp unit that can run on 110 or 220 AND you can get a paintball co2 tank, put it in the case and weld things out in the boonies as long as you have power to feed it.
You realize that Levi has gone through 3 of those home depot Lincoln 140s in the last 3-4 years right?!? I don't think the Lincons from home depot are of the same quality that you get from the actual welding stores... like they are rebranded or just a cheaper line/parts.
This is the one I was going to recommend, it is one bad ass little unit!
I have had 2 miller mig welders and was not very happy with them.... I had the DVI2 (basically a 212) and a 252. Both seemed to pop and spatter a lot, even after replacing the drive wheels, cables/liners in the feed cable, different welding wire, tips, etc. I used 2 different Lincoln 255 with the "diamond core technology", one at work, and one at school. They both were great machines, had smooth power delivery and smooth feed rates. A friend had the millermatic 140 autoset and another friend had the 180 version... I used both of those and they were smooth operating machines... autoset was a great feature and worked well. Lastly, another friend recently bought the Lincoln 210MP as mentioned above, that was a phenomenal machine to use.
I am actually in the market for a new Mig welder also.... I will not be buying a miller again though, the two I owned left a sour taste in my mouth. I also am looking for something that has a little more that what it sounds like you are looking for. I am mainly looking at the Lincoln 210MP.... the thing is just awesome, it has really smooth power delivery, still the compact size, dual voltage capable, good duty cycle, and it has tig capabilities if you so choose to add it down the road :woott: If, I was in the market for something in the lower price bracket ad less power I would be looking at the Millermatic autoset machines. This is just my experience and my $.02, so do with it what you will lol:coolspot:
Who sells everlast? You might want to check out Everlast Power MTS 200. It's a dual voltage setup and multiprocess as well. The duty cycle has better specs than the Lincoln MP210. Not to mention, it is cheaper than the Lincoln. You can get the tig setup for the same price the MP210 or just the welding unit for $850.
I originally was saving up for the MP210 but since the Everlast brand was brought up, the specs are much better for the price. Lots of good reviews on it as well. No plastic wire feed parts.
