I have gotten my truck down to ~6450lbs with me in it at the track. It normally weighs somewhere around 7100lbs, full tank of fuel, me in it.
This is what I do for weight reduction (all weights are approximate)
Tailgate: 70lbs
Spare: 80lbs
Spare winch: 20lbs
Hitch: 50lbs
Tonneau: 30lbs
Rear Seat: 150lbs
Pass Seat: 90lbs
Jack/Tools: 20lbs
2nd Battery: 50lbs
1/2 tank of fuel: 90lbs (7lbs per gallon)
It usually takes me about 1/2 hour to prep the truck at the track. I take the rear seat out at home unless the kids come with me.
I also removed the overload springs, but adding the Caltracs, pinion snubber and computer stand for EFI offsets that.
I could still remove the rear bumper (70lbs) if I wanted to or if I am close to my goals.
And yes, its 200lbs per .10 for our trucks. IMO, its foolish not to take advantage of "free" hp.
