The tailgate was a lot lighter than i thought it would be. I remember the tailgate in my old Titan was a lot heavier than the one on this silverado.

Get out a cutting wheel and go to town. Back half the truck behind the leafs or go to a 4 link and cut it up to the axle . Cut out cross members and build them out or lighter material, just keep the outer skin of all body work cut out the inner except where needed for mounting

I have gotten my truck down to ~6450lbs with me in it at the track. It normally weighs somewhere around 7100lbs, full tank of fuel, me in it.

This is what I do for weight reduction (all weights are approximate)

Tailgate: 70lbs
Spare: 80lbs
Spare winch: 20lbs
Hitch: 50lbs
Tonneau: 30lbs
Rear Seat: 150lbs
Pass Seat: 90lbs
Jack/Tools: 20lbs
2nd Battery: 50lbs
1/2 tank of fuel: 90lbs (7lbs per gallon)

It usually takes me about 1/2 hour to prep the truck at the track. I take the rear seat out at home unless the kids come with me.

I also removed the overload springs, but adding the Caltracs, pinion snubber and computer stand for EFI offsets that.

I could still remove the rear bumper (70lbs) if I wanted to or if I am close to my goals.

And yes, its 200lbs per .10 for our trucks. IMO, its foolish not to take advantage of "free" hp.

Ec/lb are lighter then crew cabs by a decent amount.

I never realized the whole backseat weighed 150lbs seems like theirs not much to it. I figure ontop of your list I can loose another 50 by going to 2 front sport buckets. I would Also really like to loose the hood that thing is stupid heavy

I wish more people would of been into getting a glass bed that was plug and play

My fuel tank is a 5 gallon gas can in the passenger floor. saves 250 lbs and it works. My TTS pumps are also zip tied to the side of the gas can. works for me. :D
