We have spent alot more then that on these trucks with lifts, strokers, tires and turbos. My customer spent a ton and is still spending because he wants what he wants. He is harder on this truck then anybody I have ever seen. Its a 4 or 6 inch lift not sure I didn't do it, new goodyear mtr kevlar tires 35" I believe and probably $60,000 plus in the engine. He hauls pumpjacks 600+ miles sometimes 3 days a week, gets it buried to the frame in mud then goes and races it. Alot of people say he has more money then sense. Actually he has several masters degrees and runs a multi million dollar business-he just knows what he wants. The problem seems to be opinions. Everybody has one-usually about someone else's stuff-which is why arguments get started in the first place. And sometimes jealously because we can't afford what they can. Its usually best just to keep our opinions to ourselves :thumb: Just my opinion
My trucks lifted. But I actually take it off road deep in the bush so it needs to be. Most guys where I live use their trucks for work and in the oilfield, ground clearance is never a bad thing!! Anything over an 8" lift is getting a little sketchy IMO though-especially when you tow 10 000lbs offroad through the mountains!
If GM would build a platform that was a little taller, most guys where I am from would leave them stock, maybe crank the bars up a little to fit bigger tires. The price you pay for a comfortable ride I guess!!
Oh yeah and I have the cut-out bushwacker flares because they are functional. If the tire isn't covered, DOT gets pissed.
And I completely understand your truck being lifted...it is put to use and reasonable. I just don't get the guys who have a serious issues with compensation
Agreed although I'm not jealous because I do have the money laying around to lift it I just don't understand it and my opinions can be harsh so they're probably best kept to myself haha. I just can't convince the Mrs to let me build the motor. I'll admit Im jealous of folks but it's not the jacke up trucks it's you guys running 10s and 11s
And yes it's all jealousy...that's it.:thumb:
