Where to get one of these Holley HP150's? Seems interesting.

All the major performance stores should have it. The HP150 comes with a regulator, and the 125 maxes out at 7 psi.

I think I'm leaning toward the HP125 now, it is internally regulated to 7psi, flows a max of 110 gph @ 7 psi and I won't have to worry about plumbing in the regulator. The HP150 flows 14-16 psi without the regulator.

I'm pretty sure I can get by with 110 gph @ 7 psi, right? Anyone? or would the extra 30 or so gph make all the difference?

I found some on the internet after you mentioned them. They are good looking pumps. Cost seems parallel to the Edelbrock 1792. Wonder which would actually be better? I think my LB7 (according to others' reports on TDP) would handle the 14psi ok especially if I run it through a filter first to slow it down a bit.

Anyone know anymore about the plumbing of the mechancal pumps?

Not meaning to hijack, but what happened? I'm running KD's twins right now and they are not regulated. I dont even have a fuel pressure gauge to tell me what pressure they are running at

I think he ran the Holley pump unregulated and it made the truck run bad. KD pumps don't need to be regulated, they are perfectly set up for the truck.

I learned the hard way running an unregulated Holley Black, not a good idea...

Even though the specs on the Holley Black are 14psi max, it surged at an idle and as soon as the throttle was opened, the engine sounded like a '74 Pinto with 60* timing advance...

Is there any gain to be had by the MITUSA 'force feeding' the CP3? It is my understanding that its not possible to force feed the high side of the CP3 via higher line pressures coming into the lower side of the CP3? Anyone care to validate this for me? or else explain how this added pressure from the MITUSA actually DOES give added benefit beyond just keeping the lower side of the CP3 supplied with all the fuel it can pump into the high side.

Thoughts on this? I'm really thinking there is no clear benefit to the MITUSA. It can only do the same thing as a capable elec. pump - supply enough fuel to the lower side of the CP3 so it can in turn, feed the high side of the CP3. So its just a matter of spending money on a reliable elec. setup or spending money on a reliable mech. setup?????

Unless you mod the the low side of the CP3 there is no real power advantage. Unless the bypass was plugged. Bad Idea from all I asked. As long as the pump can keep positive pressure to the CP3 you should be good. As long as the low side is able to keep the high side fully supplied that is as good as it will get. The high side is a piston pump. It can only displace so much fuel per rev.

The Mitusa is underhood bling IMHO. It has no wiring and it pulls fuel thru the FICM instead of pushing. Which is cool. To high of pressure from the lift will make the FICM angry and cause all kinds of weirdness. But you must run a lot of fuel around the engine bay.

I think that the 1792 pump is the way to go

I run a holley blue pump @ 12psi, no issues to date with around 20k on the truck since install!

to get 12psi i just kept triming the internal releif spring untill i got 12psi, on all of 1/4 mile logs and 450+hp dyno logs i never droped below 22k rail psi!

I have a HP 150. The 1792 is better IMHO. It has a internal adjustable regulator. The Holley internal regulator is fixed at 14 psi. Which is to high. So you have to plump in the included regulator to us it.

Is the HP 150 loud? They are said to be quiter than the edelbrock.

I'm still  about pump selection. I'd go KD twin setup if $$$ wasn't an issue.

Not knocking jk's pumps, but my buddy runs them and running the same tune his truck will draw down on rail psi way way more than mine will!

anyone have a parts list of fitting and things you will need to run the 1792, kind of evrything you need for the fuel system challenged?

i need a lift pump and and would like to run the 1792 but i think i am a little fuel sytem challenged

Mine is loud but you can here it in the cab. The 1792s are quiter IMHO. I have one sitting in garage right know.

Thnaks, this just made up my mind. 1792 for me. I'm going to get it from Jegs this week.

I'm going to go out and test a new pump that Holley just put on the market. The Holley HP150.

Disregard this statement. :screwy:

I'm going to get all of the stuff needed this week. I'll let you know what all I pick up. I'm also going to include a filter.

craig what filter are you going to try use? i was thinking of going with the nictane setup only because i work for CAT and get free filters so what might be more expensive up front will be cheaper in the long run. do you think that filter will flow enough to work with 1792? or will one be a better choice and if so which one?

thanks

TurboBeagleBuggy, you are the "buddy" running the KD twin pumps with trippins pickup that is losing rail pressure? That would be the same setup I have and now I'm a bit worried....Do you have any secondary filtration like the one listed above/nictane/MEGA/etc?
