Correct as long as you've got positive pressure it's still good. However, you shouldn't be dropping 10psi with just the mods you have done. 2-3 psi with your mods should be max drop. How old is the kit? I'm wondering if you're having a restriction on the suction side.

The unit is only a few months old i was told i could be having issues with the pickup ,and something about draining the bowl in the pick up dry! Im going to change the filters first prob today and if that doesnt change anything im going to goahead a get the billet kit:thumb:

No matter what psi you are at, providing you've got the proper size pump to supply your fueling needs you should only drop a few psi under load. If you're dropping more than that you either have a suction issue, pump problem or not enough pump.

X2 the pick up kits do help, especially on the older trucks that could have junk in the tank.

Anyone with Kennedy pumps have an issue with rail pressure? I have had Kennedy pumps on my truck for about 4 years now, I had to buy rebuild kits for them last October because they sucked up some shit and damaged the impellers, I have been having some issues with my truck not doing what I think its supposed to, I notice that my actaul vs desired rail pressure can be as much as 4k apart at some points, never drops off much more than that, I know when I put a gauge on the test port at idle they make about 7 psi, I am going install my fuel pressure gauge to see whats going on, I have a feeling that if they only make 7 psi at idle my gauge is going to drop to zero when I go wide open? I know guys have made more power than what I am making with these pumps.

I see my mm3 doing crazy things sometimes, wondering what could cause it?

ya justin when i looked at your data log i noticed that also as a matter of fact i think i mentioned it to ya,but that was before you found the boost leak! See mine drops to about 1-2 psi but rail continues to hold ,i mean im deffinately going to get the kennedy kit though because it should make a difference but im not that worried about it due to the fact its still positve pressure, and it only happens on 200,and Max effort:thumb:

were are you guys checking your fuel pressure at? I assume the test port by the alternator? Are you guys taking out the shrader valve and just using a gauge from there? I would like to test my lift pump and see what its set at.

Exactly, i took the shrader out screwed in a 1" nipple then my sending unit for the guage, I dont know if anyone else experience this but, i noticed my guage needle bounce alot maybe because of this location? but i've read that there is something you can buy to stop this from happening .:thumb:

if you want to get rid of the vibration in the needle you can either get a glycerin filled gauge or a really small snubber to put in the port to slow the response. the vibration is just typical feedback. Assuming the gauge is directly connected to the supply line with no isolator.

I just finished installing dual cp3's two days ago . I have been running an air dog 165 for 2 plus yrs , no upgraded pick up . today I installed a glow shift 30 psi fuel press gauge and noticed it was sitting at 5 psi @ idle and with just key on not running . so I adjusted the pump all the way in to raise psi , best I can get is 8 psi . I changed the filter 3 days ago but not water separator . problem is it will go to 0 psi at wot . anyone think the pump is taking a dump on me or maybe water separator is clogged ????? or maybe with the dual kit I need to upgrade the pickup to a sump?

I have dual pumps with a single ADII 165 with the stock pick up. Mine holds 12#'s at idle and around 5-6#'s at wot fwiw. Might be the filter, maybe the regulator spring, maybe the pump. I double check my electric stuff with mechanical gauges too. Might be worth putting a manual on to rule that out

I got a fitting adapter from lubrication specialists that screws into the bleeder screw in the filter head. I tried to install it on the test port like everyone else but when I tried to unscrew the valve it snapped off lol
