Is the general consensus that a lift pump will keep the cp4 alive or have people had failures even then? Going to be installing a lift pump or CP3 conversion on my father in laws '11. It's mildly tuned/deleted except egr which is just unplugged.
I know you're going to get mad because you think Im posting just to dig at you.....
.....but the ford 6.7 CP4 failure rate is/was MUCH higher than Dmax CP4.2.
There was a massive hooplah about it a couple years ago because Ford wasnt warrantying anything, they always tried to blame the failures on bad fuel.

Dam it, I dont have many friends with fords. The ones who do have had zero issues that they have told me about. Thanks for that info. Was that before the supply pump was added?
Im in the same boat do I do a Fass or a CP3 pump swap? Or do I buy a 15-16??? lol.
I'm kinda leaning more towards the cp3
Are you looking at any kits in particular? I know Fleece has one… any others?
Haven't looked too much, I'd rather fix the issue than band aid it.
My reputable fuel shops all say avoid the cp4 at all costs.
Yeah thats what I thought too but a buddy of mine just puts lift pumps on his and swears that it solves the issues. I'm just thinking even Fleece's kit is half the cost of full fuel system replacement… injectors, lines, pump, ect. I think my in-laws will do whatever I think will keep it from having those issues in the future so I might just do the CP3.
