Why do PPE lift pumps not last as long as any other? I'm not trying to be a prick just want to know. My buddies pump quit on him the other day and now mine is acting like it wants to give up. Could it be because we are drawing fuel from the stock fuel pick up. Thanks in advance.

I dont know why it is but ive heard that the PPE pumps are just not a reliable lift pump. Ive heard lots of people complain about them going out on them, if i were you id switch over to an Airdog. You can get more fuel and added filtration.

So Cal.
I not sure why you think our pumps don't last as long as others. I know there has been some issues. I have had the same pump for over 2 years with ZERO problems.

How long have you had and your friend had your pumps? We offer a 1 year warranty on our pumps. If you are having an issue send them in and we should be able to take care of it for you. We stand behind out product 100%.

We are revising a few things on the pump and this should be done in the next month or so. These changes should take care of the issues that we have seen.

Drawing fuel from the stock pickup will be A Lot harder on the pump. We recommend upgrading the pickup when the new pump is installed.

low flow rate on the suction side of a pump will contribute to it burning up faster, as mentioned earlier about up sizing your pick up tube.:hello:

Couple things....

My PPE Pump has lasted me over a year of contentious running. I had it unhooked and bypassed to figure something else out and when I went to hook it back up I thought I lost the pressure screw (Its not lost, I was looking at the inlet port with a quick glance under the truck  )

I can now swear by there pump because I have ran it for this long, with it set to 12psi and 8psi most of its life, pulling fuel from stock pickup.

Last night I pulled the service filter out of it to clean it, First time ever. If you haven't done this do it lol. Mine was caked with a bunch of brown crud about 3/4 of the filter.....

Also I was wondering Dan, can we run our pumps with a voltage regulator to 6volts, will that cause problems? I ask because normal driving it would be nice and quiet and less pressure. I can use a relay to switch back and fourth.

Lower voltage means more current which leads to excessive heat in the pump causing pre-mature failure. I don't know if the warranty would cover that either.

X2 bad idea... If its a little loud just back the pressure down some and turn it up when racing...

I'm by no means dogging on PPE. Yall have already warrantied my buddies pump and your service was second to none. If this one goes out I will send it in. I just wanted to know why they have a higher failure rate.
