Running between ideas need some help. Getting ready to put 305/50/20x12 on the truck i cranked my torsion bars up for the last set i had on was wondering how to measure stock ride in the front so i can lower them and was thinking about adding cognito leveling kit with shocks. Then again i was thinking about removing some leafs in the rear to help with traction. sorry for the long write up .

Sounds like you need to figure out what you really want out of the truck.

I'm confused. What do you mean stock height? With wheels that wide I don't think lowering the t bars is an option

seriously the only solution is to get a 4" lift and crank it down. you will have clearance to run you wheel set up and you will have the plush ride because your t bars wont be cranked plus the 4 inch lifts are tough SOB . you will be able to do 4 wheel launches sled pull and all that other good stuff with out worrying about your front end.the truck will look very close to a leveled truck.

it doesnt sound bad at all I was just trying to stay away from the extra money on a lift even only being 4" . now when u say i will being able to crank it down you meant the lift or tbars

ha its all good it was more me not understanding . I really dont want to spend cash on lift rather put that towards tranny . Im looking for a little package to get traction like caltracs and new shocks just cant figure out what im doing with the front end since i will be launching after I get tires on my new wheels

well all i can say is buy a straight center link put braces and sleeves and cross yor fingers. your steering angles are going to be ugly to clear those tires. you can lower the t bars when you go to the track and not worry about it, then raise your front end when you leave so you can turn.as for shocks some rancho 9000 are recommended.

all season performance (vendor here)sells a brace for the centerlink. cheaper alternative and it works from what ive read.

There is no right way to make a cranked truck launch good and not break. If the steering doesnt break, cv shafts will or sonething is gunna bend.

Either put a lift on and lower the t-bars all the way or lower your t-bars when you go to the track if you just crank them up. You cant crank the front of the truck up and launch good too.

Basically if you want to do a 4wd launch you can either lower the truck below stock height or use a 4" lift that is lowered down to around leveled stock height. Cranked tbars is going to destroy stuff in a 4wd launch!

Since you don't want to spend to much money... You can space the front bumper out by an inch or two. Should give you the clearance you need to run your tires without them rubbing.

I haven't personally done t. Just know of friends who have. I run 305/50r20's with the truck slammed as far as it will go. It rubbed just a tad. Then I RAISED the bumper approx. 3" and it doesn't rub anymore. I raised it to get rid of the plastic strip between the grill and bumper. Didn't even think about it fixing the rub. But I was ok with it fixing the rubbing as well lol.

Btw my truck is a gmc. So idk if raising bumpers is possible with silverados. But it may be. I know spacing the bumper forward is possible though.
