not an issue you wouldn't have with a 25 footer,, you know just idiots who don't pay attention to where they park and don't give ya room to get out

Haha I hear ya, well I was curious about how everyone felt with maneuvering in the pits. This is the trailer Ive been looking at and talked to one of the sales reps there. To get upgraded to 9 radial tires, led lights, sealed wiring harness, fold down ramps, its just shy of 8k. I dont know if you can beat that trailer for the money? Ive seen one in person and it isnt junk. I wouldnt mind taking a ride to go pick it up either.

Also where do most of you guys keep your weights? Most people Ive seen have them on the deck with wooden side boards with a strap or two over them. Just thought it would be cool to see some other ideas.

never heard bad about kaufman. we throw our weights off onto the ground, pull the truck forward then throw them in the bed. we keep the tailgate on. It's an 8500lb class and we dont really need to loose the weight out back. we put some weight in the bed anyway while pulling

I dont think you will like the angle of the 4' dove tail, traction bar mounts might get hung up on them, or any low hanging objects, plus its harder to load if something breaks and you have to pull it up on the trailer.

I noticed that also.. a 5' foot dove seems to be bad enough when I loaded a friends on ours. His had a 6" lift on top of that. But, it wasn't a pierce frame.

Big Tex has their 28+5 model pierced frame, with dexter 10k axles, 3 ramps, leds, spare tire ect for around $7800. Ive done a lot of research and havent seen any bad about them.

I've been looking at these also. I'm gonna contact them about what it would cost to get a 6" raised neck and a Deck on the neck so we can hangout up there and watch the pulls. I'm also gonna mount a job box up front to store weights and tools.

I also like how big tex puts a crank on their neck of the trailer so you can raise and lower it for your truck with out messing with the pita bolts.

Wow! Yes a dealer about an hour south of me. Thats the 2011 models they have left over though, but even the 2012s ordered are in the 8 range.

Dang, like Rich said that is a hell of a deal! Def not gonna find a Big Tex over here on the east coast for that kind of price. Im sure goosenecks are dime a dozen out your neck of the woods. I can see your point with the 4' dove on a damp deck how that could be a little hairy.

Kinda cramped on 24' trailers...I really want to load it facing forwards with my weight bracket still on the truck.

lots of good information in this thread. I've been thinking I wanted a 14,000 lb 20+5 gooseneck but after reading this it seems a20,000 lb 28+5 would be a better choice. It would allow some room to grow but also raises the price quite a bit. I also like the idea of a deck on top of the goosenck. I never thought of using it as a platform to hang out on. It would also make a great place to mount a job box.

My buddy has a 20+5 for his regular cab puller and it works out really nice. plenty of room to load it on motor first. He has a winch, compresser, and generator at the front and loads his weights on the deck under the truck.
