From left to right- 390lb, 310lb, 410lb, an a 325 in the last pic.Dogs in the first pic from left to right, okie, chevelle, pork chop, and outlaw. We stab them in the heart an lungs if there under 100lbs. If they are bigger like the ones in the pics we keep them alive, hobble there legs an put them in the trailer to take to the sale. The ones in the pics are still alive. All but the one with the single dog, he killed one dog so we killed him.

another stupid question I guess but do many dogs get killed? That'd suck!! I'm a softy for the dogs. The ol' lady wouldn't like the hunting dogs being "outside" dogs, much less have to risk coming back dead. :spit:

Yea they do get killed but this what these dogs live for. They don't want to be the yard playing with the tennis ball lol. But wkd is rite on any hunt any dog could get cut or get killed.

This is "Duramax Diesel" as registered. He goes by Diesel or Heavy D as he has been nick named. Not much of a bird dog tried to partridge hunt him and he would rather eat em. This breed is supposed to not like water but this thing swims like it was his job! He also enjoys breakfast in bed.

Good looking BIG dog! What breed is he?

For you hog hunters... Are a few of them dogs pit bulls or staffordshires? Some look like it with the big ass heads & cropped ears. Love them dogs. We have a small female. I don't picture her going game on anything though. She's a baby. LOL. If big burly badass dogs are used, has anyone raised up Rottweilers to hunt? I know that's not their normal breed "job" but surely if one could be trained to hunt, they surely have the stoutness, eh? Or are they too big & the dogs need to be a little smaller & have incredible stamina as much as they do power? Basically, what are the attributes & build of an ideal hog dog?

Some of ours are half pit. Pits are great hunting dogs. Stamina is a must. We keep gps trackers on our dogs and our main bay dog will run up to ten miles an never slow down. When she gets back from a run it's like she never went. I'm sure a Rottweiler would hunt if you raised him that way.

Well mine had to go to the vet last night. He was having trouble breathing and wouldnt even swallow his own drool, and come to find out he had a ton of foxtails stuck in his tonsils. $380 later and a bunch of antibiotics and we are back on the road.

Yeah, glad he's ok!

I spent $1500+ on dog surgeries last month. Ugh! One torn ACL repaired ($1200+) on our pitbull (this makes the second time, her other leg was last year) and the other got a ruptured stomach lining from a neighbors dog biting him & his stomach fatty tissue was pushed through. Never even broke the skin though. Wild.

Both are doing good now. The one with ACL fixed still gimps around but other is fully active again.
