My LBZ has 205k on her, and I believe it time for head gaskets. I haven't spent much time troubleshooting it as I wont have time until this weekend.
My question to you guys is since it has 205k on the clicker is it worth just doing head gaskets, or should I go ahead and do a build. The truck was bone stock up until 190k. I would hate to spend 4k on a gasket job, and crack a piston 2k later. It currently dynos 705/1252 on the big tune, and has one season of sled pulling under its belt. The water pump went out mid season and overheated once real good before I caught it.
Thanks in advance

With the power you have, I would personally recommend a build. People have toasted pistons and rods with less power than that.

Sounds like a very generous dyno.

Also, yes, build it if you're going to keep running it that hard.

A generous dyno? don't think it is I guess it could be. One was Danville Performance Dyno when Mark tuned it, and the other was Dan Clarks at Jeremy Waglers first event last year.

Ive been meaning to ask the same question dozerdog.. I know you said your making 700hp and these guys are suggesting to build it. I dont wana derail your thread here but what about 600hp range? Still build?

If you need head gaskets like he does then yes. If you trucks running find I wouldn't build it until you add more power or have a reason to tear into it. You are playing with fire though.

Im not even sure my gaskets are blown,,going in to get checked out after work tomorrow. I priced gaskets and a build both. I just wanted opinions.
