Had a tough weekend....bad day Friday at the track. Need new breaks and figure out some suspension stuff. Trap speeds are 124/125mph.
Truck ended up over heating and poured coolant from overflow. Trailered it home also broke a CV axle.
Saturday truck ran fine didn't over heat but left the line too soft and only pulled 265.4'. But no breaks.
Today they drove the truck to the dyno just fine got it on the dyno did a small run at 900hp and it overheated again. Poured coolant from overflow so trailered it home.

1st time out since its been built and it had a rough weekend ☹️.

Talked to Jason he suggests changing out coolant tank caps. Not sure what im gonna do. This is the 1st time it's ever overheated. But it was 100* and 50% humidity this weekend.

It's definitely worth checking all the simple stuff first. Take off the thermostat housing and look for bubbles. But it will probably only do it at WOT and move the head a bit. Using standard arp bolts?

What are your drive and boost pressures?

If you don't want to pull the motor you can just ring the heads.

It the gauge physically showing it is overheating? Or is it just spitting coolant?

I'd say it is either lifting the heads and pushing coolant or the water pump impeller came off.

It did show 260* on Friday. I believe it's the water pump it's a stock pump.

Definately check the water pump and do a pinned or welded one.. I had a stock lly truck spin one and it was weird.. It wouldn't over heat just easing around but as soon as you got Into the throttle hard it would jump up on the temp gauge very quickly.

Call Jason. Lol. He built the engine. Will know where to start and help figure it out. He knows better then to use a bone stock pump.

Already did :) we will get it fixed up. The pump wasn't his decision it was mine. Which we all make mistakes haha.
