The twin turbo acert motors are dogs, both the 13 and the 15, but then again an ISX isnt much to brag about either, the older 3406s and N14s just had plain raw power and low end grunt.

Ditto...dad's fuel transport semi was a '97 daycab eagle with an N14 Celect Plus...whenever I'd ride along he'd always mumble "damn this thing pulls good." (We'd only drive it a couple times throughout the summer to move equipment between properties) It takes a lot to impress him too lol.

Ya but long noses don't work for excavating and farming in day cab's where turning is really a necessity. In a Volvo you can have it all and a detroit series 60. Hello fuel economy. Cat $100.00 Cummins $90.00 Detroit $80.00. Same loads same weight same truck same trans same day. Give me a detroit.

The truck I drove for my boss before this T600 was a '98 International 9200 with the little series 60...it did seem to get awesome mileage, but after sinking 15k into the top end alone on a 300k mile truck any savings he got from mileage (which you don't track in farm use anyways) was swallowed up at least 3 fold. Sad thing is, a remanned head, remanned fuel pump, new fuel lines, 3 sets of injectors two of which scheid wouldn't stand behind and idk how many hours of labor at 2 different shops later, it still has the same problem :(

I am partial to the older trucks, The first truck I really drove was a 65 white, 290 cummins, and a 10 speed road ranger, Pulling a old steel hopper bottom hauling soybeans back to the bin. the other truck we had running was the 78 General used in smokey and the Bandit 2, it had the aluminum hopper bottom. That truck is now down to just a tandem grain truck. removed the 5th wheel, and put a 20 foot grain bed on it. With the good years here lately, it has gotten a work out, just hasn't made any long trips, but still runs great.
damm I was thinking back then when I was young and just got moved up to the road tractors, I was bragging to my dad about my backing ability's, His answer was he had backed more miles than I had drove forward so I shouldn't get to cocky, ha ha dam those were good times

Hmm...cows bitching about the current speed of service, eh? That'll make a nice, fast feed truck.

haha, this truck was supposed to be set at 435hp until they plugged the computer in and saw it was at 525. We werent gonna pay to have them set it lower.

After they took the speed limiter off i got it to just over 90mph (according to the guy following me) but by then hitting frost heaves and having an empty truck with just a frame made it hard to keep the ass planted.

Anyone else have issues with KW mirrors? I can't see out of them very well. They are a fine automobile but if it's a day cab, give me a Pete or even a Mack. I don't have the perfect posture required to sit in a KW all day.

The power aeromirrors that are on the 600s (mostly) or the traditional mirrors? The one we just bought had them set in to close so we put in extensions.

I love sitting in the KW, nice and big cab, not wide, but tons of legroom, and with a low seat, its nice and comfy all day.

I hate how little legroom our mack has.

thats what our t800 has for a motor, damn that thing does pull

until it breaks down. Ours has been a nightmare.

My project truck is a 1973 KW W900A short nose like the one in Smokey and the Bandit. Trying to find a 36" flattop for mine right now. Love those old trucks where the steering wheel takes up half the cab.

theirs nothing like a classic road tractor! the only newer tractor that looks cool to me is the new internationals with the huge old school looking grill.

I hate mack's we bought an 04 model a couple years ago and had nothing but trouble. Plus the only place that can work on them is Mack. We have one 06 daycab pete, 07 pete with 30" sleeper and an 03 pete with a 72" sleeper. 06 and 07 have c15 twin turbo's 03 has a single turbo. 03 and 07 have 18 speeds. we swapped the 07 from a 10 speed to an 18 speed and lost around 5 mph on our top end. 03 will out pull all of them at the moment. I have been talking to cat about purchasing the software to turn the fuel up on them all.:D
