Good to hear Johnny. Just a word of advice-don't look at the LBZ/LMM tables-they will make your head hurt:D

I was looking at some LB7/LLY tunes-boy those are so much easier to understand.

Im glad mines a lly then . This is already hard to understand . Just not completely sure what I am looking at in these tables ......

Ain't that the truth. And in my opinion, the LMMs are worlds more difficult than an LBZ.

Good to see you got the Efilive Johnny. My offer of a few Kodiak tunes still stands if you need some. I have some for mileage, towing, and a few for play. Not sure what turbo you are running now...so they might not do anything you need.

I am on the stock turbo right now . Would love to ck out some kodiak tunes .

Congrats!

Im in the same boat with EFI live, Its easy enough to load and change tunes .

But when it comes to actually changing parameters and other stuff im kinda lost.

Its like having superpowers and not knowing how to use them!

honestly that is 1 reason i am glad i started out with HP tuners is because you have no one to get tunes from , and to be honest not really any help , i learned how to tune my truck babtism by fire style trial and error so i got to see how each table personally effected the truck but i warn this methosd takes alot of time . my tunes turn out to be pretty decent when i bought EFI from rob he looked at my tune changed / tweeked 4 fuel pressure tables smoothed a few things and sent it back . dont get me wrong those few tweeks really polished it for peak performance but still .

Good luck Johnny it takes a bit but you'll get it licked . you will never be happy with a canned tune again .

I have run real fine tuned efi tunes before . Ive known for quite a while that the canned tune while working well is very raw . Alot of room for fine tuning and making for smoother better power and less egts . You are very right about not being able to run canned tunes anymore . Im ready for what I know exists . Better more refined tunes .

Tired of my egt gauge buried also :D that blows and got old last cracked piston :cool2:

It goes back to when one particular tuner was called soup and the people waiting for that tune where in the soup line. Salad came from when IIRC anyone one that was running anything else:D

Wasn't the 'soup' in reference to a Seinfeld episode where the soup nazi said 'no soup for you' much like the tuning nazi that would only sell tuning to certain people. Confused? Me too.

Sent ya a couple of tunes Johnny...Let me know what you think.

Thanks Brother . Quick ? for you .

Have you or do you here alot of rattling at 2500 when your pilot injection shuts off . Mine rattles like a machine gun . Drives me crazy . 2400-2600 rpm . Been told that you can leave the pilot injection on or something like that and make that noise go away . Done it since new , but it sure seems louder now than I remember . Alot louder in the morning too .

Jason LBZRCKS has offered to come down and give me the crash course to make this a bit easier for me . Were going to try and hook up on Friday night at truck nights , I will try a few of these then .

way to go johnny. Bury yourself in it a couple days and it will start to make sense. Your right about the fine tunning. the tunes I have done shift way better with almost zero trans relearn. I just wrote a 50hp tow tune for my sierra trip last weekend and ran it without a test. topped out 1250egt with a 40mph headwind uphill in 5th. predator 40hp would go 1400 same conditions. Have fun

Well I graduated from diapers now to being potty trained .

Loaded my first tune and tried it out . Amazing how different they are in so many ways . Engine sounds different . The one I just tried was a pretty high hp tune . Very touchy on the bottom end , amazing shifting . Sounded like the turbo was being spooled all the time until stopped . Interesting .

On to the next one . This one I think is some serious power . Looked at the tables looking to see the maxs on things . Looks good and again ... so much different than anything I am use to . Sounds much different at idle than I am use to . Will go drive it and compare to what I am use to power wise and egt wise . Already notice right out of the gate that the trans shifting is so clean in comparison to what I am use to . The ppe trans shifting must be eally raw or something .

Im taking baby steps , but this is pretty damn cool . Going for another test drive . :D
