Picked this little project up the other day for a hell of a good price.

Its already got a fairly stock built 350 small block in it and GM 1/2 ton axles. It still uses the original jeep tranny and transfer case which will be swapped out for a TH350 and an NP208 transfer case. I already have these two items sitting in my garage, I just need to go through and refresh them a little bit and move some cross members around a little bit.

As you can see from the picture it has been recently painted and is in pretty awesome shape cosmetically. The wiring really needs some attention and a bunch of other little this and that's need to be taken care of. But for the price and my proximity to a rather large set of mountains to go play in I couldn't pass it up! More pictures and such as the project moves along. I am in the process of stripping all the wiring out of it at the moment.

Needs a tilt column or a removable steering wheel so I can get my fat ass in and out easier. Thinking about cutting the door cross bar and putting a hinge in it. Im only 5'11" and 215 lbs... shouldn't be that tough to get in and out of it!

Ahhh. A YJ Wrangler. If you prefer the older CJ round lights and hood, im pretty sure its a direct bolt on swap. Good platform to build from.

I have a built CJ8. Its a blast offroad.

Mine used to be a Jeep thing, but then all that s#it broke, so now its a mismash of parts... the only thing still somewhat "stock" and I use the term loosely... is the AX15 trans, simply because I haven't blown that part up yet.

If you've never owned one, here's a little secret... J E E P stands for Just Empty Every Pocket

The come along really wasn't that bad... I just needed to blow all the sand outta my vagina and get after it. Lol. We drove 6.5 hours through the night to go pick this thing up and I was pretty grumpy by the time we got there.

The only thing that will be "jeep" left on this thing is the sheetmetal. So thanks for the "secret"

I was going to say the same thing ,owning a CJ7. The best thing one can do in owning a older Jeep ,obviously this doesn't relate to this project as he has a motor exchange done, is to find yourself a good 4.2 straight six dump all electrical ignition computer emissions crap buy a D.U.I. distributer and a one wire alternator (GM style) this is what I have and you will have one of the most reliable gas guzzling slowest never leave you stranded POS out there! :roflmao:

I've had mine for at least 5 years and with the exception of losing 1st and 2nd gear main shaft haven't had one issue.

If you don't know best place to purchase parts is www.quadratec.com I found. There are others but fast shipping and fair prices they can't be beat IMO.

Jeeps are a blast, but like every hobby, it gets expensive depending on how hard you push it.

I have a cheap grand Cherokee that I have plenty of fun with, and it's a reasonable price.
