If it has the stock transfer case and a chevy 1/2 ton axle the outputs for the front driveshaft will be on opposite sides. Unless its a driver side drop dana 44 out of a ford of full size jeep?

The rear is a 10 bolt GM and after some research the front end is a Ford.

Here's a little progress.

I think Im just gonna leave the drivetrain alone for the time being and focus on electrical and getting the motor running strong. I have a Dana 44 and a 14B I could swap in but that means I would have to buy new wheels which really isn't in the budget for me at the moment.

As you can see from the picture above... it's gonna need some wiring. I ripped every piece of wire out of the vehicle. Gonna get a universal fuse block / wiring harness and mount it up under the dash. This will allow me to do the wiring in a proper fashion instead of hacking and splicing the factory harness
I have a GM tilt column that I am going to swap in as I have worked with them extensively in the past. That will also allow a little bit more room for me to get in and out of the rig. Its a pretty tight fit to get in and out. I also need to get a fuel cell to mount in the rear and a GM sending unit to wire up with the new gauges I got started on tonight.

I will post a few pictures here and there as I make progress. Thanks for your interest guys!

Im open for suggestions from those of you who have jeep / offroad experience. This is my first venture into a (somewhat) serious trail rig.

10 bolts are junk and the front axle you have is proble an early dana 44 ford axle. If thats the case you can swap in the 14 bolt and swap the eight lug dana 44 outers onto the axle in the jeep. Most all dana 44 parts are interchangeable from the knuckle out. Another option is a semi floater 14 bolt found in some Z-71s and 2wd 3/4 tons as they are six lug and super stout.

I would do the 14bolt, swap out the internals for the 1440 chromoly shafts. throw a locker and be done. Its light and super strong. upgrade the transfer case to the nv231 or go heavy duty and put the NV273.

Start saving your $$ for some real beadlocks.
I agree that 10 bolts are junk, the 44 in the front is plenty. Put the 14 bolt in the rear 'cuz that is where most of the stress ends up.
