Will it work on cast??? Specifically a cast exhaust manifold?? This isn't for a diesel, it's for a Honda Civic. The manifold cracked between cyl 2 and 3 where the drops connect to the collector. Cheapest one I can find anywhere is $650 dollars..... reason?!?!?: The manifold is also cast with the cat.... IT'S ALL ONE FK'ING PIECE!! There's a shitty design....:mad:

Anyhow, I'm just wondering if I can use JB Weld on it so I dont have to remove it. Gonna trade it anyway and dont wanna dump a lot of $$$ into it.

Thanks.

I don't think it will withstand the heat. If you can get to it with a torch safely you might be able to braze it.

Thought about that and possibly welding it in place. Not really much room to move around in there.... seems like even less than our trucks have :(. trying to find some way to fix it in place as it's gonna be a pain to get out.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Tried JB weld on a customers hyundai right by the O2 sensor-melted off idling and boy does is stink! A small torch and a coat hanger will kinda braze it pretty good but the crack will just keep going-got out of state to a wrecking yard or try the "this old Honda" website they have all kinds of used parts.

Details?? :D

Ive seen JB weld do some amazing work:D

Details?? I may go ahead with it if it will last for the trade in inspection...:p

header and a straight pipe !

Then I gotta find someone to shutoff all the CEL from emissions crap... Besides straight pipe only sounds good on V8's..... :D

Thats where this crack is.... Right above the bung for the O2 sensor. That is the whole reason for this ordeal. I pulled the heat shroud to remove the sensor as it threw a CEL for the top O2 sensor.... a cracked manifold is what I find.

Thanks for the site... Still snoopin to see what I can find...:D

No doubts about that. Every vehicle newer than '70 that I've owned has had some form of emissions/egr fail.... Including the Duramax. EGR/Emissions stuff sucks......

Wes, can you get a torch in there? I can braze it up after x-mas......

(Bringing my tanks back from parents house)

I got the stuff to do it, just not the room. This thing is so friggen tight in there, there's no room to work. I'd have to remove a lot of stuff just to keep it from getting burned. That's why I've been asking about JB...something to fix it without adding heat. Thanks for the offer though...

That I may end up doing if I can't find another one for less than the obscene amount honda wants for a new one.

You got an arc here in town?? My stuff is still in SD, basically useless unless I wanna drive down there (which I dont).... :D
