You guys should have seen the fix I came up with after I lowered the El Camino and kept bouncing the header collecters off the ground... suffice to say, I could create lots and lots of sparks and not damage a friggin thing on the car....:D ... Very whitetrash!! :D

That I may end up doing if I can't find another one for less than the obscene amount honda wants for a new one.

You got an arc here in town?? My stuff is still in SD, basically useless unless I wanna drive down there (which I dont).... :D

Im bringing all my welding equipt. back up here after x-mas. :D

Let me know if you dont get it fixed by then.

If you go to an autoparts store, they should sell muffler cement. It is kinda like a putty/paste. It's for the "thrifty" folk that have a small hole in the muffler and can't afford a new one. It isn't a log term thing but should work long enough to get it traded in.

Brazing is the correct Ghetto Fix. Drill a hole at the end of the crack so it doesn't spread more, then grind a V groove about .06" deep and wide. Use a torch and brazing rod (flux?) to fill it in, grind it flush, then spray paint it with header paint. Probably last about 10,000mi.

If you can find it Hi-Temp Lab-metal good up to 1000degs

Where could I find something like that?? Does it go on cold or need heat??

Take it to someone who knows how to weld cast, but it will prob be cheaper to buy a new one;)

Already called Honda. Due to it having the Cat cast onto the manifold, the price is WAY up there. They qouted me 794.88 for a new one, plus another $40 for gaskets. Not dumping that kind of money into that car. Found an aftermarket set for ~650. Trying to figure out if I can fix it and get rid of it for cheap instead of replacing now.

If I have to do this, I'm gonna have to pull the manifold off. No room to use a torch in there.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Guess it may be a little more labor than I thought....

Friggin imports.:D
