The damper you have listed will only work on 06-10. He needs 01-05 which is Fluidampr PN 890101. 06 LLY shares nothing with 04.5-05 LLY in regards to hard parts interchangeability. 06 LLY is just a LBZ with a lower power tune.

Not true. If it’s an early 06, it will be a true lly. Jan to May of 06 iirc were the months. And those are very much out there

Touche, I've never worked on an early 06 then. Every 06 that has come into my shop has been LBZ based (no ficm).

same here. i ordered an LBZ reg to replace his because i thought like everyone else and when i popped the hood, i saw that the fan didnt have a cage on it and it was black. looked over and saw the ficm and popped under the cab to look for an NSBU, sure enough, right there on the outside. pulled the new lly reg off my second pump and sent the LBZ reg back for another new LLY reg.

no powertrain swap. he bought it with 20k on the clock off midway chevys lot and it is WAY too factory under the hood to be a swap imho but who knows. long time friend of mine and it was strictly bought to be a work horse around az.

its coming back by hopefully tonight for me to put a t-case in it. Ill check then.

I'm curious to see what it is. I know mine is original because I bought it new off the dealer, and just about anything with an earlier build date would probably be a 2005 year model truck.

If you could get a picture of the door tag, that would be cool. Like the others, I have seen a bunch of 06 LLY trucks and never seen one that had a 5 speed or a FICM. They have all been LBZs with different tuning.

My buddy has an 05 lly that I service and repair for him. Build code is an lly, but under the hood is an lbz fuel system and a 6 speed. He bought it brand new.
