For sure, whether im wrong or not, ill post that bitch up! seriously got me

It isn’t about right or wrong. It’s about getting the correct info out there. If there is an 06 LLY with 05 LLY electronics, I would love to see it. It would be some sort of unicorn.

Off topic but also not, when I was looking for another truck there was a dually that kept popping up. It was an lb7 that they did an lly swap in. They were selling it because they couldn’t get it to run. As I was looking at the pics I noticed an air intake heater. I was like “well there’s your problem” lol. It was super cheap but the truck was beat to shit or I would have jumped on it.

I’m a good Christian boy
...until you're not. ;)

So now, 13 years after they were supposedly built, we're finding that random 06 "LLY/LBZ" trucks actually have 05 LLY drivetrains. Riiiiiiight.
Sorry, not buying it....something like that would've shown up on DP by the end of 2006, or on here shortly after that. There would've been all sorts of bitching going on back then about it, too. Yet, crickets.....

Just to clarify, the tenth digit of the vin is the year designation. The 8th digit is the engine designation. So an 06 truck with a 2 for the 8th digit is a 2006 LLY. It is confusing, because the true LLY trucks(2004.5&2005) use a 2 for their engine designation too. But we all know that a 06 LLY is actually an LBZ with unseen differences.
The other confusing part is build dates. GM releases new models so early sometimes that the build dates seem to overlap the model year prior.

So um yeah..... im going to go ahead and blame it on everything from the heat, dyslexia, kids crying, got hit in the head, was drunk and high as a kite and so on.

Door tag is 06/04. Just a typical lly. I shall adjust the thread title accordingly

Shit happens. That dyslexia can be a bitch. Takes a bigger person to admit they were wrong, and shows your good character. :thumb:

Hey, I’m human. Not afraid to admit it! Do the same shit with my guys at work. Feel it helps them understand me more as a leader than a boss. Now with my wife...

Let me ask this, since I’m not all too sure how the build dates coincide with actual vehicle models. Being that it was a June ‘04 truck, is it actually an 05 with the updated front end (newer grill and good design)?

If it was a Chevy, it should be that way but it’s a gmc. I doesn’t have a “tall hood” or different grill from the 03-04 trucks that I can tell but I’m not 100% up on the gmc trucks. I don’t think they really got much change

That makes more sense then. I think the only change visually from 03-07 was door badges on a GMC
