I mean like a guy at my work as a twin I beam ford that is a f-250 and he swears up and down the badges are the only thing about it that aren't f-350. he said his half ton ford was a one ton because it had a c6 transmission. I know about the chevy heavy halfs. and the 3500 hd's with the 19.5's id actually like to have one, I guess maybe it is just around me lol;)

they ride ROUGH and it aint because of the 19.5".. with out a body on the back they are ~6300-6400lbs with 16,000lb of springs on the truck.

could realy use air ride in the back ;)

i get the "you dont know what you are talking about" and "that doesnt exist" look comments when i go looking for suspension and brakes stuff.
i have been accused of installing the I-beam front axle and 19.5 on the truck becasue GM didnt make those from the factory
GMT455 trucks

Oh man we have some of those trucks at work with Monroe 4x4 conversions on them. When they break it takes 6 months and thousands of dollars to fix because it's so hard to find parts for a Dana 60 front axle

Lately I've seen a couple drw F350's that are ccsb's. I thought you had to have an 8' bed to get drw's. I don't think they are centurion conversions either.

Everyone wants to think that whatever they have is the best.

That was a factory setup from Ford in the early 2000s. My old boss used to have one. Dont know the specs on them though.

IIRC they are D70 fronts..

either way pull the build number off the axle(usually on long tube) and go to any drivetrain store and get parts... but you might know that already

seen two of them in my lifetime.... def weird looking trucks... think you post a pic of said truck?

My 82 elephant is rated as a 3/4 ton, when I had the driveline rebuilt years ago the guy told me the only thing making it a 3/4 ton was the smaller carrier bearing and u-joint, the front and rear u-joints and yokes were 1 ton other wise it would be a 1 ton SRW. Just saw a 2500 six lug the other day....

I just break the trucks nowadays; that's the excuse we get from the shop when we ask how much longer it will be. I will try to get a pic of one tomorrow, we don't have many left. They are the worst riding vehicles I have ever been in, by far.

Thats got to suck my F450 work truck has a EC and a 9' flatbed and the ride on it is dangerous when the road is rough. Unloaded with 55psi in the tires all around 900lbs. of fuel on the back makes no change in the ride.

I have to load our equipment way forward on the GN to get a ok ride or any traction in the rain. I bet I getting in the 6000lb+ range to get it to smooth out.

Finally got a pic of one. Maybe they are a 70, I guessed it was a D60 on pure likelihood.

Edit: and it is not squatting. They sit like that empty, too.

I had a 96 GMC Sierra 1500 extended cab Z71 that had the heavy duty chassis package. 9.5 " 6 lug 14 bolt rear. It was sprung heavier than a standard 1500. I don't remember the GVWR but it was a couPle hundred pounds heavier than a standard 1500. It had 3/4 ton brakes too. People were always surprised with how much weight it could carry for a half ton.

I had a '98 model just like yours. I was always curious about the rearend in it.

yep. and your450 is alot heavier then mine... i need 3000lbs just to touch the 2 stage springs... I've actually thought bout sliding the trailer axle backwards1-2 feet
