Ill agree with Brantley Gilbert. He's my gfs favorite and I do like his stuff. I liked a lot of Eric churches songs from his first album. Not so much the new ones.
I don't guess I've ever really listened for the bass guitar in a song before that I can remember but I picked it up today listening to Pink Floyd - The Wall. Has a strong bass line in that song! Am I right?

I agree with all this. I just listen to Pandora radio and set up a station for reckless kelly or Roger Creager. Lots of good small town names out there need to move up.
We had a similar thread going on CompD.
98% of the music out of Nashville sucks. Speaking of Eric Church... I don't think he could find words for half of his songs on the "Chief" album. He was just making sounds... "bow, bow, bowbow".
If you want real music, check out the Texas country music scene.
Recently I've gotten back into playing bass again for a hobby that actually relieves stress versus create it. .
99% of the music I listen to is country, and can agree that most radio stations suck. There are a couple of brantley gilbert, eric church, and that new song that colt ford is featured on that they will play, but I just plug in my ipod or a cd and listen to that. I mostly just listen to hank jr., DAC, and pretty much all the texas stuff with some of the oklahoma boys mixed in. Eli young bad I could give two shits about for the most part. Sound just like rascal flats now. Want some good music you'll have to hit the small bars. Probably the best concerts I've been too were ragweed and stoney. Stoney larue knows how to make some music.
cant stand todays country. its not even country IMOP. its gotta be early 90s and older country for me.
I love Texas Country!! You ever listen to Casey Donahew?
