Ck evrything thoroughly . Could be a few other things there leaking . Try to get your head under there to see the weep hole n bottom of pump . If it looks like it coming out of the weep hole , yes replace pump . More than likely it is the pump .

But:

Since you were just in there messing with things , I would look over the upper stuff for leaks also . Basically look at anything you just touched doing the pump mod . Maybe you left something loose .

Just wondering why the the heater core will plug? There are smaller restictions in the sytem than that. No?

I have to agree with not using bars. I stay away from any fix it in a bottle stuff. I used that bars crap do in a rad on my high school drag car. Yes the rad was about shot but it didnt overheat till I put that bars crap in and it plugged up my almost shot rad and heater core.

Its for emergencies only in my mind . It got the kodiak back from bonneville with a pump that leaked out in 7 miles without it . After we made it 50 miles at a time adding fluids

Bars leak will build up and clog a heater core. done so many after customers thought they'd save a few bucks on a radiator. Anytime you use a magic mechanic in a can, there's usually always a down side to go with th up side.

well looks like the idiot strikes again:rofl:

i see coolant leak marks around the left bolt(it was completely loose) and once i tightened that one i heard air so they are both all tight now and the leak is fixed. I am overwhelmingly happy that my water pump isn't leaking :D:D:D

:spit: Dang them loose bolts!

In case of an emergency leak fix.....Or cheap asses:rofl:

CAYENNE PEPPER POWDER!!!

YES, I have used it! Yes, it works wonderfully, dosnt clog stuff, cheap, get it anywhere.
My old 95' F-350 PSD i had got the hot stuff temporary fix! Few winters ago, before goin to work, i'd fire it up with the remote start and let it warm up while i got ready to leave. Well i go out to leave and i see coolant all over the ground, great! Open the hood and see a stream coming out of the core. Ran back inside grabed the cayenne pepper, dumped about 6-8 TBSP of it in the rad. I fire it up, and watching the coolant peeing out it suddenly stops! Cool! That one treatment lasted me the 5 months i waited to get a new radiator! Its like a $500 rad. I only replaced it because i had some distance driving to do and wanted the peace of mind, but it never leaked again:D

Exactly, i'm sure they have failed at low mileage but damn 41,000 miles which has mostly been pretty easy driving(Hypertech III for 25,000 miles:D) I would have been surprised but now all is well

Im glad it was something simple. 41000 miles is low, but Ive seen stranger things.....
