This was never an argument as much as it was an attempt to make sure what you were saying wasn't possibly putting forum members at legal risk by implementing what they read from you.

You're right bud, I don't know anything about Canadian Provincial law, or what the emissions regs look like there in Alberta, it doesn't help that all your provinces practically operate as individual entities either.

I live right under BC and most if not all the emissions laws that apply here apply there. Alberta, I couldn't tell ya.

So, in an effort to see what's what, I called Stetson GM in Hilton.
Sure as the shinning Sun, they'll do it. They said they block the EGR and flash a tune into the ECM for about $600 CDN

I'll eat crow, I gotta admit, I'm stunned by this.
When I asked about emissions compliance the gentleman I spoke with said "we haven't had a problem yet" and "I wouldn't go stateside with it, or to BC)

So, is it "legal" per-se? That's still somewhat debatable, but that dealer WILL do it... I didn't get into any of the questions about DPF/def/urea delete stuff and warranty issues but I'd assume they'll provide that service as well like you had said

Well I did some research, in Canada there are no federal agencies (like the EPA in the US) it is up to the individual provinces, and currently there are not much if any enforcement for oem emissions equipment being removed. Currently vehicles in Canada only need to meet the required emission standards until they are delivered to the dealership or end user (aka the customer who buys it from the dealer) after that anything can be done to it. That goes for both personal and commercial vehicles, now it I highly doubt that it will be like this for long with commercial vehicles but in Canada (especially western Canada) there is hardly any enforcement on personal vehicles if any, with BC, Ontario and Quebec being exceptions.

That's the plain and simple of what I found and it was regarding commercial vehicles which are under much more strict laws than personal vehicles, and have a lot more enforcement for than personal too.
