I gutted the stock water pump gear and impellar off the pump.

I am planning on installing the stewart water pump under the rad/intercooler and splicing into the hose there.

Im wondering If im going to have to reought the pipe off the bottom of t stat housing to upstream of the electric pump? and then Build a block off plate on the top of the pump.

Here is the pump i bought today: I seen johnboy posted this up in another thread and liked this style.

Just wondering Simon, reading the ad it says it's a booster for the sock pump. Can't wait to see how it pans out. :thumb:

 You are a funny man. But I guess you have twins no doubt.

I see, I was just wondering about the ad and if it would move that much volume on it's own. Also, I am wondering if it will provide some kind of pressure to the block and heads to help keep the coolant from boiling too early.

:)Mike it says :The pumps can be used alone in many applications or as a booster pump for vehicles that experience overheating problems in low RPM situations.

Ill post results after i try it out. If the friken snow would melt it would be soon:(

Did you have to make a block plate how did you route it? Any chance of gettin a small write up very inerested in doing this

I gutted the stock water pump by pulling the gear and impellar off and the shaft then welded the hole shut where the shaft went thru that was my new plate

there is a line that comes down from the Tstat housing to the water pump I welded that shut also and then tapped the housing and ran a hose down to my lower rad hose...... Not sure if that was needed but I wanted that line pre pump not post

there are a couple pics in the water pump dangers thead that may help and I should of moved into this one

Awesome thanks. Think I might try and do this while the motor is apaart

Well that's a great time to do it!

Here in this pic you can see where I brought the hose down from the tstat housing.... I tapped the line that would normally go to the turbo for coolant but since my turbo is oil only cooled I did not need this

I'm not sure if this line is needed but gm made it pre pump so I wanted to do the same

That line doesn't normally go to the turbo, it goes to the heater core. The ports for the turbo line are in the metal pipe that you capped and in the metal portion of the upper radiator line. The line to the heater core is also pre-thermostat though and would give the same function as the bypass line, except that it gives you bypass even with the T-stat's open, where the normal bypass line gets closed off when the front T-stat opens.

Thanks for the write, if one more pump fails this the route I'll probably take.
