Installed twins and injectors, balance rates r wack

Ok just installed a set of wherli twin turbos on my dmax along with having my injectors hones, balanced and drip tested... Trucks white smoking at idle now..... Pulled the injectors back out and had them all rechecked. Come back at a 1cc variance across the board on idle, 10cc wot. All passed the drip test all have a awesome spray, according to the injection service, (diesel injections of louisville ky, certified bosch repair service). Been scratching my head on this thing for a few days, rates were completely perfect before the honing and balancing. I cleaned the ficm connections with contact cleaner, ice picked the harness and a few other lil things. Heres wats got me the most. Checked the balance rates to see why it was white smoking at idle, cyl 2 and 4 are stuck open at 15 positive side. All others are staying around 4.5 to 5, keep randomly changing values on me but the cyl 2 and 4 are consistanly 15. So wat i did was take my cyl 4 injector out and swapped it with cyl 3. Didnt change anything, Cyl 2 and 4 stayed at 15. Turned my ad pump down to 8psi at the ficm since i deleted my filter housing due to the twins.. Smoothed idle some but still smoking at idle. Any ideas where to go now? Rail pressure is bouncing from a min of 5420 to a max of 5990 at idle? values do not change in gear. cp3 has been modded for over 20k with modded reg and modded pump gear per diy.... I did however add the bigger cp3 inlet fitting while i was waiting on powder to be finished..... Anyone help? Please lol. Pulling my hair out on this thing... And yes all pucks r in the injectors

Is the balance rate on 2 and 4 a +15 or a -15? Do you have the stuff to do a compression test?

+. And no I do not have the stuff for a compression test. Heads and studs was done about 2k ago. Truck ran fine prior to having my injectors done. Checked the rates before I sent them off.

If it is a +15 balance rate, you either have low/no compression or your injector isn't firing on those cylinders. Since you say you swapped an injector with another cylinder, and the balance rate didn't change, I'm thinking it is either a low compression problem or an electrical problem. Usually an electrical problem will cause a DTC to be set though. If you can find someone to check the compression, that will help you figure out what is going on.

15+ = missfire. I suspect you may have made a few of custom low compression squiggly rods, especially with the addition of the compounds and bigger nozzles.

I'll see if I can borrow a buddies compression tester. As for the valves, the truck has only been idled, I just finIshed everything and can't figure these rates out. As for the smoke clearing uP going down the road that's a big negative. Smokes like a train. I dnt believe it's getting power. Just not sure how im suppose to find out if them 2 cylinders r. Didn't know if there was a way to prove the injector plug with key over etc

I would say a compression/ rod issue also. Strange that it ran perfect and no white smoke before the additional work?

I would be checking/replacing some wiring. Rods or onternals would be the last thing on the list if you havent drove it afterwards. It's not going to bend rods as soon as you start it with new parts

I'ma compression test it later. Think I've got a new wiring issue though. Could be a bent pushrod I suppose but I'm pretty certain it's not a compression issue. Will know tonight when I get home

I believe you would hear a bent pushrod, and of the smoke didn't go away driving I'd say the valves are good. I'm with everyone else sounds electrical. Good luck

Any way to test a ficm? And how u go about testin these plugs to make sure current is present? Dnt wanna cut the wires but probes won't fit inside the connector. And motor sounds likes no pushrod bent, but it's an option I guess. I believe the wires r dead somehow

I have seen pushrods bent without any noticeable noise it might be worth pulling a cover to check.

Got some codes today. P0202 p0335 381 p2149. Since cyl 4 is easy to get to I stripped some wire back on each wire going into the connector. With truck running I see 15.4/15.6 volts. Isn't it suppose to be a lot more then that?

When checking the wires slide a pin down along the wire into the connector to backprobe them, I use T pins so it is easier to clip the leads on. Not sure on the volts but I'm fairly sure it should be closer 40 volts.

I checked cyl 7 to see Wat it says. Reads same as cyl 4 did. That's red probe on a wire other on the frame. Both wires going in read 15.5 or so. The codes on cyl 2 has me wondering bc I just ice picked them and still got the codes coming back.... How do u test the ficm?
