I just installed Fleece 60% injectors today and I must say WOW! I cannot believe the difference. The tuning is rough, but unreal performance. It revs like a two stroke motor. It blows my mind that injectors can make that much differance. I can't wait to get it dialed in and on a dyno to get some numbers but I can say I'm very excited. I finally fill like this thing runs like it should. Its almost scary to drive, No it is scary to drive. FINALLY! Jeff

Big sticks = big surprise huh! I admit, i dropped the hammer on mine and had to pucker up and grab a mouthful of seat cushion:p Same-ish results from me too, wicked response/revs once it lights up, almost lightswitchish!

I really wish somebody would do a before/after test to quantify things. I think Idaho Rob did a test.

I have 10% injectors right now from Dynomite Diesel, and I'm not sure they helped. When I tested the 29% MDE ones, I didn't see much difference either.

Guess I better get off my lazy arse and start to play with them more seriously.

Congrats Jeff.

I did a little write up on my findings. Just a recap;

Picked up a solid .2-.3 in the 1/4 mile and 3mph. I had maxed out my set-up and fought with the idea for years. Nothing else changed except the injectors(then tuning).

The truck doesn't smoke on cold start up or idle. I went 30% over. My mileage has suffered a bit, but I feel that is due to the 600+ tune that has been in the truck since Oct. I need to detune it and watch how the MPG pans out.

Thats interesting. Thats the only thing that would suck is if it caused a mpg decrease. I have always gotten my biggest mpg gains with the biggest tunes in my truck. the current tune in my truck nets me 20 mpg and I drive between 75-85mph every day. But mabey this will be the trade off with bigger injectors i guess time will tell:)

Jeff,

Assuming you had stock injectors before the 60% nozzels... how much have to been able to reduce timing?

BTW- congrats on the nozzles, nice to get a part that gives instant improvement/feedback.:D

My mileage did not decline with 60% over nozzles. I doesn't puff white smoke or smoke at idle. You can back down pulse width & timing (which my stock rods & pistons are thankful for). It drives normal until your foot goes 1/4 throttle or more. Then you go looking for a smaller tune if you intend to drive in town (mine being 2wd has made me become more careful about stabbing the throttle to pass someone).

are you really being nicer to the motor thoe ? wouldent it be the equivialnt fuel shot. I know your are able to get the fuel in quicker one big shot. but still the same amount of fuel? has any one done any cyl presure test with bigger injectors? and are your egts any lower higher ect. just trying to learn thanks

good to hear bud! glad you are finally getting some excitement out of your build.. seems there for a while, you were almost regretting it in a way.

My stock motor will be coming out in a week or so. I will be taking some time on disassembly to detail the conditions of the rods, pistons, head gaskets. I'll post up pics & report back on that.

My egts did not get out of control but to be fair I installed a bigger downpipe, straight flow exhaust, Spearco intercooler, headers & up-pipes, and larger pre intercooler boost tube along with the nozzles & twin CP3. I see close to 1600at the top end of the track. Under normal driving the egts are no different than when the truck was all stock with just a Banks PDA.

I specifically asked for some "sane" tunes to help keep the stock motor alive (which it has to this point). I just drove the truck 800mi round trip to pick up a built long block from the machine shop. I don't tune my truck so I can't give much insight beyond this. My truck runs low 12s on the stock longblock (and had capability of 11s with a better launch) with some nice top end speeds so I can't say I regret the decision.

thats the million dollar question i would think it would help because you wouldnt have to start injecting fuel so early on the compression stroke , and it should help egt's if your not spraying so late into the power storke but thats just theory no real proof . probably help power and efficency but wether it would extend part life nobody will probably ever know because of part inconsitency's , for not all pistons/rods fail at the same levels .

Hey Pat, I did a before and after test with your injectors ... also I did adjustments with the nozzle flows that not more as 0.5% differences between 8 Injectors are ... I can post the measurement sheet if you want ;)
