So, my lb7 was leaking diesel in to the oil. Researched and found out I needed to replace the injectors.

Found a set. Replaced them and now I have issues. Yes, the diesel in the oil is gone, but now I have what sounds like "spark knock" or "burst rattle".

I get this when I accelerate and the rpms are 1200-1500.

I have been to the dealer and checked the balance rates. They are telling me that the injectors are bad. (Yes, they do know that they were recently replaced.)

This is a table of the Balance Rates done over 10 minutes on a warm engine. As this truck has a manual transmission, all are done in neutral.

What is the deal? Are they good/bad? Why do they fluctuate? HELP!!! I am going crazy!

i dont see a table but your rates should be +/- 4 in neutral, and +/- 6 in gear. it does sound like you've got an injector taking a shit.

Where did the injectors come from, were they new/reman or used, and how many miles since they were installed?

Sorry, I think i fixed the table so it now shows up.

The injectors were reman. I do not have 100 miles on them. It started doing this immediately after they were installed.

I got them off ebay, as I was trying to save money. The seller is willing to do a "warranty" on them, but I need to send them the bad one(s).

NEVER CHEAP OUT ON INJECTORS! EVER! Many of us have learned this lesson the hard way. And without knowing the fuel rate when the balance rates were taken, they are worthless. And an injector can have a perfect balance rate, but be JUNK(happens all the time). To many people get hung up thinking balance rates is the ONLY test to tell if injectors are bad or not. I would get the cheap junkers out of it, and get a set of BOSCH remans in it and I bet your problems will be gone.

Agree 100% your eBay special injectors are probably junk. We only use Bosch remans, have never had one ever come back with issues.

Merchant Auto has em for $225/per.
Lincoln Diesel has em for $1699/8

Gmpartsonline has them for $182/per (have an email in with their customer service to confirm they are genuine Bosch reman)

In case you didn't notice I'm in the market for injectors too!!

Again what he said as your balance rates look well in spec!

I was in the same boat as you picked up My 03 that had supposedly a brand-new set of injectors put in got 1/2 hour away from the guys house and I was on the side of the road.
Ended up putting a set of BOSCH remans and a lift pump in it and never looked back
