Hear.....there
This might be an older thread but it best illustrates the reasons I walked away from forum life all together....mis-information and heresay with my name thrown around for presumably good measure.

Couple things to note.....yes my truck ran a mid 13 at the time but wheel hopping so bad I NEVER had a good run. (not even the first pass). Yet...no one noted the 108 mph trap speed....funny. My dyno sheets were also on a conservative tune and stock nozzles.....every other MPI setup made similar power with 40 over nozzles so that's not exactly apples to apples as the saying goes. What Nathan did do correctly was replace the cold side tube off the intercooler....which I now believe is the real reason his kits tended to make a bit more power.

So like I said....I'm done here....which is frankly a shame because I tried so diligently to help my fellow diesel enthusiast. I only posted this so others finding this thread have a proper take on the subject and understand my truck isn't a total train wreck like some implied.

Todd,
I didn't take any of the info posted as a knock on you... People where just giving opinions, right or wrong that's the web for you. A guy has to be able to sort through the bs. I try to be helpful but have given out bad info in the past, no ones perfect.

Not tryin to be on anyones side. Cause I could care less what other do. But have been around many mpi kits and have been to many dynos with them. There's a reason people try to build similar kits. Can't beat them. And drive pressure and hp/tq -no matter what pumps and injectors are used can be equaled if comparing apple to apple. Which is why I boughy a mpi kit. Hope to be puttin it on in the next few weeks or so. I will post hp and torque number on stock pump and injectors before I Change the injectors to prove the statements above being large1 will post his.

Always fun to go back and read old threads, lots of things happen in a short period of time. There are some new players in the twin/triple/fourple turbo game since this thread was started, and there are some very good products available

I have had nothing but MPI twins on all my trucks, Burn down is still running my first set that were the ones used to build the jigs for the first generation LB7 kits. If we call them mild then what Nathan has built for Max'd Out has to be consider wild. All have produced steller performance. I have no experience with the II kits just what I have read on these forums. I don't think anyone is getting rich building these kits. They are time comsuming and the basic parts are expensive. The more mass production that goes into a product and one size fist all, the worst the fit is probably going to be. The old addage of you get what you pay for hold true with compound turbos as well.

For what it worth, my current set on white out 4094 over a 5533 will make between 60 to 75 lbs of boost, drive pressure stays very close to boost and egt's remain under 1200 degees.

to ad to this my drive psi is only like 4 psi higher then my boost psi. Imo the II kit is a nice kit and the install was easy.

Perhaps.

Back when I was starting to get serious with my truck I had a long heart felt conversation with Idaho Rob and I believe he saw me for my true nature. The advice he gave me has turned out to be spot on....that for people like me trying to innocently help others the forum would chew me up and spit me back out. I gave up trying to fight with everyone and their google genius, granted I'm over generalizing here since their are some real shining examples but you get the point.

So I just stopped posting my findings.....which is alright since my friends know where to reach me for diesel advice.

Eh....I suppose that's life.

Although that may be true, I think the fact that information you (or others) provide, helps more than the people just arguing with you, is for forgotten. There may be "google genius's", but Your input, and everyone who is involved heavily into diesels helps this sport as well. Wether you post or not is your choice, but I would like to say thanks for the information you have provided.
