go as fast as you can in 4 lo and try to shift into 4 hi, tell me what happens :D

Agreed in an automatic it would most likely be catastrophic, but being a zf-6 I'm hoping for a different result  Looks like its time to search the local dealerships and see if I can't find one to test it out on :roflmao:

you can't shift into 4 lo with the truck moving, zf-6 or not, you push the clutch in @ 70 mph, your driveshafts are still spinning, your t case is still spinning.
non synro'd t case + attempt to shift at 70= disaster

edited to add: some of the old "two speed rear-end" trucks werent actually changed at the rear end. My dad had one a long time ago, I think it was like a 70 or 72 gmc 6500, and it was a 4 speed, with a "2 speed rear" but it was actually a gear reduction box mounted to the back of the trans.

Dunno if you could find something like that.

doesnt matter if its a auto or not. my samurai is stick and you can not shift the t-case from low to high or visa versa without grinding the cogs. This is why manual transmissions have syncros. without them you would grind just like you do the t-case.

You wouldn't want to use the low range reduction from a stock T-case anyway. It would be way too much overdrive. You'd be looking along the lines of .37:1 gear ratio.

You just need to figure out how to rev match it to keep it from blowing up :roflmao:

I agree even a 2:1 t case would be way too high

if your gonna go through all that, why not slap a four or five speed behind your t case, and have all the damn gears you want, they did it in old grain trucks an aux trans.
