Update: Well I called the machine shop after waiting a couple weeks to hear from them. They said they forgot to call but One head was ruined and the other was borderline, Just my luck haha. Called clearwater cylinder heads in Clearwater, fl. They sell an "upgraded oem" head that he explained to me Is cast thicker in the crack prone areas. 525 a pair completely refurbished new everything With 3year unlimited mile warranty. The local dealer uses them and recommended them So I bought a pair and should get them next week.

Ok had a little time before work this morning to start ringing pistons, hit another road block. The ring set I received came with a top ring 2nd ring and oil ring. These stock pistons have 4 slots. The 2nd slot is really shallow. I'm guessing maybe oem has more rings than aftermarket pistons?

Only three. Nothing goes in the shallow grove but carbon.

Well I was bored and wanted a project, this turned into a little bigger than I was hoping for but has been a great learning experience, and I hope that the decision to fix this one instead of start with a new one was the right thing to do. Guess ill find out if I ever get it back together haha

got the pistons ringed and back home. Torquing rod caps now. Got a question though, I'm torquing these cap bolts and this thing is getting pretty hard to turn over, is it a combo of the moly lube between bearings and crank and new rings? Or did the dealer give me the wrong freakin bearings? There was a rods and b rods, the parts guy and dealer said they are different part numbers. He marked the boxes. But I'm starting to worry.

Its going to get more difficult to turn over as you add a piston and rod to the crank. Bearings tho, i do not know. I ordered all my stuff from merchant and just got all regular bearings..

Yeah, they are definitely the wrong bearings. Ugh.
