PS - This is Smoke Signals, not tech. There is more leeway to blow off steam here, or have a little fun.

Josh,

You may find this hard to believe, but I feel you could be a real asset to this site and the Duramax community. You have to believe it also, and do the legwork. I'm an old fart compared to a lot of members here, I've raised 3 younguns to adulthood, and have a couple more to go. If you think I'm a prick now, you should have seen me in my 20's.

I'm taking you under my wing as my long lost illegitimate son. If I spank you, understand it hurts me more than it hurts you.

Alright dad, first line of business. Go beat up the bullies who are picking on me when I get off my bus. While you are doing that mom is going to make me some cookies and put on cartoon network. :coolspot:

but what irritates me is that we cannot have a agree/dissagree post or exchange of info without name calling, deleting posts, edit to say things that wernt said, and bashing. i think if the 2 mods want respect, they should also do the same, and respect without the name calling and cussing.

If you think I'm out of line, PMs work great...I often act upon posts reported by other members...Believe it or not, I don't go on a witch hunt for certain people...

As the membership grows, personalities will collide, that's just the way it is...

Unfortunately, because of my job, I'm online very late at night...I miss several posts...Again, I check PMs...

Fixed 'er Sonny!

No, me and Buck never raced. I'd like to someday. I've raced both Orange Crush and Jimmy Smith, and both won, and lost, against them.
Colorado, I whupped 'em both. DNF for Smith, 2 for 2 against Crush, IIRC. Yeah, I won that event with a truck that actually drove to the track.

After Bonneville, we will give it a shot again. That was our first year in ProStreet.

i want to also come clean about being a pita, but someone has to be one:D No they dont
Would you be the ass if we where at a party together? If not, why do it here?
i like this site alot, and there is alot of great stuff to read. but what irritates me is that we cannot have a agree/dissagree post or exchange of info without name calling, deleting posts, edit to say things that wernt said, and bashing.I respectfully dissagree:DI think we can have different opinions and actually discuss different ways if guys didnt jump the gun so fast and bash or discredit
It is more constructive to keep good communication and then we all benifit imo.

i think if the 2 mods want respect, they should also do the same, and respect without the name calling and cussing. i want to appologize to mikel and pat for all the crap back and forth. enough of this stuff.....but, i think to make things even better, we should invite steve cole here and all appologize to each other and have a duramax love fest:rofl: cant we all just get along?

Respect from them? Its not about me:hello:,its about the other members and the owner of the place.

Personally i dont care if Josh respects me or shows me it , I have plenty of respect from other members here because I show it to them.

I help people here because they all help me....Its my E-Family:D and I dont like it when people mess with it.....Is that bad thing?

May be true, but he does come across quite arrogant in some threads. hopefully this board doesn't become like all the other politically correct, over moderated sites.

It is only okay to be an arrogant ass hole if your name badge is green and now it seems running the 1/8 mile in the 7's is a ticket as well. If you are a sarcastic dick around here and question certain people about certain things you get banned. At one time this website didn't delete posts or ban members for things they said, that however isn't the truth. This type of mindset is a disease much like liberalism, it cannot be cured.

Its real easy to come across as arrogant, retarded, slowminded, dumbf*** or whatever other badges you can slap on people without having met them. This is the internet and for the most part, we all only PERSONALLY know a few people on here.

I cant claim to know Chris well, but having met him a few times, I would say he's the farthest thing from arrogant there is. He's a stand up guy, who, like Pat said, would give you the shirt off his back. I haven't met you, bigbird, dmaxvaz or any other east-coasters on here, therefore I'm pretty much limited to what I see you all post and base my opinions off that.

Give people a break, I'm sure very few on here try to be an asshole, its just the way stuff gets presented on a forum. With no faces to see, we're stuck with what we can read and we all know shit can get typed the wrong way all to easily.

There is a tuning area for people that bought EFILive from us.
DO what?!?!?... Oh Guy Tripps going to hear from me tomorrow about this!!! I get a tow tune and they get a ROOM!?!? :baby:

Ok, hi-jack over

I think the hardest part about anything to do with the internet is trying to get a feel for the person on the other side of the screen... I had a real hard time with that, and i found that instead of getting pissed and blowing up, if i gave it a little time 9 times out of 10, in a later post I could read the context of it and realize the post that pissed me off was a joke or friendly prod...

Another thing that was said was with this site growing the different personalities and view points will grow with it as well. Some will be good, other won't be, and that's ok. As long as we all act like adults, and if we have a problem or concern we resort to PMs rather than open name calling and insults things would work themselves out.
I'm guilty of going key-board commando, and 2 minutes later deleting it because I know it's going to solve nothing and just escalate something dumb into something REALLY stupid that someone will have to deal with... It's REALLY easy to do - I've found with a quick PM and upfront (Not RUDE, but to the point) question to the poster (Via PM's) that upset me can work ALOT of things out and usually were mistakenly assumed by the post.

This board has a ton of tech, I've learned alot in the short time I've been here. Some from people actually walking me through things (That I'm SO thankful for!) and others from people that have posted the question before me... If things stopped getting asked it might not be that the 'tech just isn't here anymore' it might be the answer to people's questions are just a search phrase away.

Sorry for going all Dr. Phil on you - it's been a weird night, I love you all and goodnight

Chris made me sleep on a love seat for two nights with no blanket-he can be a wanker!!:joker:

But he also spent countless hours helping me tune my truck 1700 miles away from him for nothing and I have personally seen him busting knuckles on other peoples vehicles out of the goodness of his heart just to help a guy out.

I'm sure there are many other similar stories about many of the other members here as well. I believe 99.9% of the people here are honest good people at heart, they just need either lighten up, or check the ego's at the door. Keep it civil and be positive with the input and everyone will get along just fine.

On the internet, one might read something that they may think is a shot or a bash, but I think it needs to be taken with a grain of salt. Unless of course it is blatent name calling-which is something not tolerated here for that very reason.

Right on, check you ego at the door because track times and IQ have no correlation. We all have good ideas to share.

I know Chris from going to all the events and visiting with him there (and yes thats 7seconds in the 1/4 ;) ). At those times his head is screwed on tight and and he is in the zone. And even then he is one of the most chill, relaxed, kind person you will ever meet. I can honestly see on here when he posts like he did that it is all in fun, because there is no way that guy can be an ass.

Screw that josh is a stand up guy, and that is a pretty low blow there imo. Did you seriously just bump up chris at Josh's expense? Just because he wont join the circle jerk and drink the Kool aid you all get your panties in a wad.

On top of it all you are supposed to be a vendor

I've never met Josh, but from his posts, and a lot to me even, he always came off the wrong way to me. But like Wes said, offline, in persone, maybe he is a different guy...Until then all I have to go on is how he is on the forum.

I just gotta ask, are there really high schools that build cars that run the 1/4 in 7 seconds? That's just insane! Where were these high schools when I was still in school?
